Wow, what a difference. I feel so much better today. I don’t feel ravenous or irritable. I hate that feeling. I haven’t been running since Sunday when I did my 6 miles :( That really sucks since I have a 5k race Saturday. I am headed out right now to do a couple of miles with the kiddo. Eating didn’t get that bad, thank goodness, but I went over my calories the last few days. Today has been good though. Hopefully the scale will start going down too once some of this water weight goes away.

Just thought I would post something to let ya’ll know I was still alive. TOM is hitting me pretty hard this month. I feel like my energy is totally drained and I’m terribly grouchy and bloated. The scale is up 3 pounds and I just feel yucky. I’ll be happy when AF gets here and it’s all over with. I have a 5k to run on Saturday, so I hope I feel better by then.  I didn’t count calories yesterday, though I didn’t eat a lot, mostly shredded wheat and fruit. Today I’m continuing, because we all know how that can get of hand. I’m supposed to go for a run today…we will see.

I did my 6miles today. A schnauzer came after me while I was running and growled at me a lot. I didn’t know something so cute could be so scary! His owner was across the park looking totally unconcerned. I shouted at him and he eventually went away.

I’m pretty tired now, going to hit the hay.

Rest day today as far as exercise is concerned.  Tomorrow is my 6 mile run.

No rest day for food however :) . I should be getting AF in about a week, so of course the water weight is starting to come. Just gotta hang in there until it’s over. My body acts so nutty nowadays, some times I just don’t know what it’ll do.

I did the 3 miles and then I took the baby to the park. He had fun though there were tons of kids there…it overwhelms him a bit I think. Anyway, we came back here and I had liver and a lean cuisine for lunch. Baby had some of my liver. I’m glad he likes it!

Weight today: 193.2

I went to the local running store yesterday with my friend who was registering for a 5k program and I saw that they had the Moving Comfort Maia bra in my current size on sale. If it had been a measly 20 percent off, I’d probably ignored it, but it was a full 50 percent off. Actually, it was more than that I think because the tag said 44.00 and I only paid 20. 18 with tax. Pretty good deal! It does not support as well as my enell, but it does offer good support.

I  can still feel that chicken salad bagel sitting in my gut. That will not be a a meal I eat very often lol. I’m going to do a 3 mile run today after we eat breakfast. I will report when we get back.

I ran 2 miles with a friend. She’s still trying to get back into and I made her push the stroller the second mile (ha!). I’m a little afraid of what the scale will say in the morning. I had particularly yummy bagel from a place called Begal Bagel that serves delicious sandwhiches on bagels. Well, I knew I had about 800 calories left in the day and I’d just run so I had a chicken salad bagel sandwhich and it was DIVINE. The resturant doesn’t have any nutritional info up, but I just kind of eyeballed it since I knew what was all on it and put it into The Daily Plate…I still have about 80 calories left. That includes a couple of swigs of grape juice I took. And if it’s more than that, I think the exercise will take care of it. Off to bed!

Weight today: 193.4

I think that I was retaining water the last couple of days and that’s why I’m suddenly going down in weight. Which is fine with me! I love seeing the scale go down again. Maybe I will actually make my goal of 189 by valentine’s day.

I’ve been a week with diet sodas. I want to keep it up and just maybe have one every now and then when I’m out. Eating is under control for the most part. I got those hunger pains last night again, but went to bed early and ignored them. I even had a Wendy’s kids hamburger yesterday and ate sensibly the rest of the day. But holy crap it was 280 calories! I thought the kids burger would be  a lot less calories.

I’m browsing the cooking light website trying to find something to cook for tonight that DH will like. I think we will try this one:

Ingredients

3/4 pound skinless, boneless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
1/2 pound skinless, boneless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons vegetable oil
1 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
1 garlic clove, minced
4 cups fat-free, less-sodium chicken broth
1 teaspoon paprika
1 (14.5-ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
1 cup uncooked long-grain rice
1/2 cup chopped bottled roasted red bell peppers
1 tablespoon capers
3/4 cup (3 ounces) grated Manchego cheese

Preparation

Sprinkle chicken with oregano, black pepper, and salt. Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken; sauté 4 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove chicken from pan; cover and keep warm.Add onion, green bell pepper, and garlic to pan. Cover, reduce heat to low, and cook 10 minutes or until tender. Add broth, paprika, and tomatoes; bring to a boil. Stir in rice. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 18 minutes or until rice is almost tender. Stir in chicken; cover and cook 4 minutes or until chicken is done. Stir in red bell peppers and capers. Sprinkle each serving with cheese.

Yield

6 servings (serving size: 1 1/3 cups rice mixture and 2 tablespoons cheese)

Yay, my not giving into my late night eating paid off! I wonder if I could do 5 pounds by valentine’s day? Bleck, I won’t think about that. I’ll be keeping busy today so hopefully eating will be kept under control while on the go.

I ran 3 miles today even though I was supposed to wait until tomorrow. I have a lot of errands to run tomorrow so I didn’t want to do that in case I was overly tired. It was a nice run, but the wind is vicious out there! I also did some strength training.
I managed not to eat tonight. I am starving, but this is the first time in a long time that I haven’t given in and eaten something at night. Instead I organized a few things and scrapbooked.

I think I have the exercise under my belt. My struggle, as always, lies in the eating department.
