Good luck with the MIL; mine is on the other side of the country.
No, I don’t have a herb garden unless you count the straggly tiny basil plant on the windowsill. I did have 2 cherry tomato plants in pots which I am bringing in almost every night now that it’s so cold cause they have lots of little green ones yet.
You know how those PT positions go—pretty soon you’ll be getting overtime–been there done that!
You MIL sounds very frustrating. There are very few good things I can say about my MIL, DH is mostly estranged from her. My family however, loves to feed people. In any given crisis, my first instinct is to bake something. However, now that I’m aware of it, I can control it better.
Good luck on the new job. You’ll be back on track with food and fitness in no time.
I know the MIL pain. Mine would raise my kids on McDonald’s. She actually buys my 6 year old daughter 10 piece chicken Mcnugget measl because the happy meals aren’t enough for her!?! WTF??? It is when i buy them for her. If she had them constantly they would all be overweight, spoiled rotten, monsters! That is why God made parents!
I know you’ll get back on the exercise ball, when you do do me a favor and pull me with you!
Thank you so much for your comment on my “i want a baby” post. It was very encouraging, and it helped me to put things in perspective.
I’m sorry to hear about the frustration your MIL caused. Sometimes my MIL is wonderful, and other times I would like to give her a one-way ticket to the moon
I hope you had a great run yesterday! This week wasn’t so great for me either….I skipped the gym a few days. Here’s to making next week great!
You’re sweet to work so hard at accepting your MIL.
I remember once when my son was about 5 months old, we were visiting my mom and she told me to sleep in, that she would care for the baby. I walked out to find him eating a chocolate ice cream cone for breakfast. My mom told me, “He asked for chocolate milk and I didn’t know how you made it so I figured this was just as good.” lol.
Preparing to Run/Walk a Half Marathon in December 08!
And trying to lose weight and make a better me in the process! I am following a modified plan from Hal Higdon. Any words of wisdom/encouragement are always welcomed !

(((HUGS))) I think all MILs are like that. Maybe try to talk to her about your struggle and ask her not to give your son the foods either.

It gets easier as the kids get older . . .
