Kudos to Cheerios

General 3 Comments »

Cheerios are one of the few cereals I really give DS right now. They are a good snack with very little sugar. Not only that, but what did I find as the “prize” in this box of cheerios? Not a plastic toy, but a children’s book!? How wonderful! I think I will send an email to general mills and let them know how awesome I think that is. I’m all for healthy bodies and healthy minds for kids

I decided to time myself today with the stroller. I did 1 mile in about 12 minutes, so not bad. I still wonder what I could do without the stroller, but I will probably find that out tomorrow with the dog. It was a good run. I did 1.5 miles and .5 mile walk before to warm up. I did my weight lifting (yay!) and took the baby to the playground this morning. I’m starting to meet a regular group at the playground. Of course their kids are a lot older than DS and rip and run everywhere. The other parents can pretty much just sit and talk, but I have to be right there with DS to make sure he can get up the steps, down the slide, etc. That’s ok, more exercise for me!

Food today:

1 cup of grapes, bite of banana

Yogurt w/straberries

veggie burger on whole wheat bunĀ  w/cheese

whole wheat spaghetti w/ homemade sauce (lots of chunky tomato, zucchini, and lean ground beef)

Just a reminder to myself

I really need to start lifting weights more often. I think in the last 2 weeks, I’ve done it maybe twice. Not acceptable.

I am going to get a routine going and do it three times a week. I’ll change it every month.

I ran 20 minutes this morning. It was a nice run, the baby was happy, the sky was overcast and, even though it was humid, it was nice and cool because of the constant breeze. Of course, all this weather probably means a tornado or something is coming, but look on the bright side, right? :) DH has agreed to watch the baby once a week on the weekends so I can go running, with the dog. Running with the dog is the only chance that Iwill have to see exactly how far I can go (strollerless!).

I haven’t been following the daily plate as much as I should lately, so no deviations today. Here’s my day so far:

28 Almonds

1/2 egg

1 cup of green grapes

lean cuisine panini

If you haven’t tried one of those panini’s, please do! They are delicious!!

Plans for the rest of this month:

Continue to eat in calorie range, with nutrient dense foods

Drink water instead of soda!

Increase running increments (time) and also weekly check distance when running with the dog

Lift those weights!

I’m thinking about signing up for a half marathon (WALK, not RUN lol). That’s 13 miles. It’s in January…maybe I would be able to run that far by then? Ha, I doubt it! Anyway, just something I’m toying around with.

Pretty good day

I’ve been taking DS to a nice park near the new place that I run and met a super nice lady. She looks JUST like my SILĀ  and is just as friendly. We come around the same time and she is so nice to talk to. She has a little girl that she brings with her. I tried to run this morning before I met her at the park, but my heart just wasn’t into it today. I will go tomorrow morning. Eating has been ok, still no pounds lost. AF is really weird, I had terrible cramps day before yesterday and just knew she was on her way and then nothing happened.

Have a great day, everyone!
