Tired

Today was a bust, but tomorrow will be better. I ate junk stuff most of the day, but smaller portions than I would’ve. Being a stay at home mom is hectic and stressful sometimes. Today was just one of those days for me. Yesterday we all went to see the inlaws. Of course there was tons of food there I shouldn’t have eaten, but I ate small amounts so there wasn’t a gutbustin’ feeling I used to get when I would gorge myself on food. High point of the day was when MIL told me that I’d lost weight as soon as I got out of the car. I don’t get many comments like that, so it made my day.

Tomorrow will be my final day of week 4 and then the real pain begins with week 5…scary! My period is still MIA so I went and got a pregnancy test just to ease my mind. Of course on my way out of the store, the alarm went off and the lady checked my bags and receite only to loudly announce that “Oh it’s your PREGNANCY test that set it off” Thanks for sharing my business with the world, lady. Anyway, it was negative, which I was expecting. I probably would’ve passed out and gone into a coma if it had been otherwise.

I can’t tie my shoe correctly! I’ve never been able to! During exercise, those suckers always come undone at least once. Someone must have failed me in elementary school. Maybe some velcro shoes would help? lol…anyhoo, I did day 2 of week 4 today and I used a podcast that someone suggested on the boards that has someone chiming in during the music to tell you when to run and gives a little encouragement. The run went really fast and I was able to do all of it.

I also wore a running skirt today and  a top that I got from the consignment store.  The shorts under the skirt are a little snug but there was no riding up and it was much cooler.

We didn’t end up going out of town yesterday, we’re supposed to go today. There’s supposed to be some of baby’s cousins there, so I’m sure he will have fun playing with them. I hope everyone has a happy Sunday!

Here’s my favorite picture of myself, the day I graduated nursing school 3 years ago. I’d been on Atkins and was very close to getting to my goal weight. I can’t believe I still thought I was a fat cow in this picture. If I only I could’ve seen into the future hehe.

Rest Day

General 1 Comment »

Today is going to be a rest day, since we are going out of town in a couple of hours. Tomorrow will start day 2 of week 4 of C25k. I really don’t feel like going anywhere, it’s always taxing with the baby but maybe it will be nice. MIL is a very nice lady, but a  big food pusher. She also tries to give the baby a lot of foods I dont think he should have right now like pie and ice cream. About 2 months ago I went by myself to visit with baby and I think I kind of hurt her feelings when I told I her I didn’t want baby to have those kinds of foods right now…or ever really, I mean that’s how we get addicted to these foods…but now that I think it over, maybe I’d let him have a little. Everynow and then won’t hurt…

I just see her other grandchildren when they stay with her getting sugar on fruit (I mean, who needs sugar on watermelon and cantaloupe?) and hardly any veggies unless they’re fried. I don’t want baby to be like that. Anyway, I’m going to try my best to eat what I can and as little as possible.

Exercise, General 4 Comments »

I did my first day of week 4 of C25K. It started off nice, I didn’t even notice when the 3 minutes was up, and then came the 5 minute jog. It was challenging and I didn’t finish the second one, I stopped 30 seconds early. I kept repeating in my head that my body could do it and that only my mind would stop me. However, during that last run, I was going up a hill and it was too much. I am still quite proud of myself. I ended up doing about 35 minutes total.

No workout tomorrow, we are going on a day trip to see DH’s parents and hopefully I don’t eat a lot of crap while I’m there.  I’m so ready for it to get cool again. I would also love to take my dog on a jog one day, I know she would love it. I know she’d get overheated in this weather though. Also I don’t think I could do it with her and a stroller.

I wanted a bodyslimmer like this:

I went to Walmart because I remembered that they had some not-so-expensive bodyslimmers which I wanted to wear under certain items of clothing. I hate seeing the bulge around my midesection and they just pull everything together so nicely. I don’t mind spending a lot of money on underwear, but I know that once I lose weight and stop nursing that my bra size is going to go down and  they are sized by bra size. I was so shocked to see that there weren’t ANY DD or DDD sizes. The most surprising thing was that they said they were inspired by Queen Latifa. Now I know she got a breast reduction, but she’s still got big boobs and if they’re inspired by her, I would think they’d have something beyond a C cup. Oh well…

6:30-banana

8:15-2 hard boiled eggs

11:00-tuna sub, 1 slice of 2 percent cheese…handful of wheat puffs

That’s all folks, nothing else to eat, I have got to get my eating more under control.

Eww, sweat!

Gosh, I was sweating up a storm this morning. But it makes me feel good to sweat, like I’ve really been working hard, though I attribute it some to the heat lol.  I did my last C25k week 3 run today. Tomorrow or the next day I will start week 4. It goes as follows:

Brisk five-minute warmup walk, then:

  • Jog 1/4 mile (or 3 minutes)
  • Walk 1/8 mile (or 90 seconds)
  • Jog 1/2 mile (or 5 minutes)
  • Walk 1/4 mile (or 2-1/2 minutes)
  • Jog 1/4 mile (or 3 minutes)
  • Walk 1/8 mile (or 90 seconds)
  • Jog 1/2 mile (or 5 minutes)

Yes, that’s going to be, for lack of a better word, a bitch. I know I’m not taking a day’s break in between each workout like the website says to, but I listen to my body and know when to take a break. I can usually tell the morning of if I should do it or not. I think I will probably have to repeat week 4 anyway, it looks like a doozy.

Baby did a cute thing while I was jogging this morning. He has a little steering wheel/food tray on his stroller and it makes noises like a car starting up, music and a horn. There were three ladies walking on the track in front of us and I was closing in. I was hoping they would hear me pull up so I didn’t have to veer off into the grass when baby beeps his little horn and they turn around and move out of the way. So cute. He’s my little workout helper :)

So hot!

I will be happy when it gets cooler and I won’t be restricted to just running in the morning. The baby decided he was going to wake up at 5 am (it was already 78 degrees!) on the dot this morning and I was beat. I remembered that we were out of diapers so I went and got those and fully intended to go to the track afterwards, but I was so darn tired. We went back home, had breakfast, played a bit and then took our nap. It’s too hot to do anything now outside. I will try to play DDR if I can and then strength training. I am really slacking off on that.

I don’t know where my period is. Before I got pregnant, I was like clockwork and now it’s all screwed up.  I always repeat to myself that slow and steady wins the race, but sometimes it’s so hard to remember that. I need to get back to losing a pound a week…I will have to do something different if that doesn’t start happening soon.
