Well, it’s come to my attention that my blog has become mega boring and entirely focused on food diaires and what I have lost that week.. so I’ve deceided to invest a little bit of time in writing a bit about what I have organised so far.. and maybe even some pictures to liven things up!

So, first up is:

The Venue
The venue was the first thing we booked back in January. We set the date quickly and easily as we wanted to get married on what will be our 11 year anniversary of being together. So after a quick scout around (for ‘quick’ please read ‘long hours googling venues and compiling a spreadsheet of possible venues and shortlisting them based on capacity/price/distance from home and whether I actual liked the venue or not’) we came up with 3 possiblilities. After viewing all 3 we quickly settled on Weetwood Hall in Leeds.

I really like the venue as it’s a nice mix of modern and old. The old side of the hotel is a converted Manor House with parts of it dating back as far as 1540. We are getting married in the Jacobean Room which is part of the Georgian Manor House

 

 

The rest of the hotel is quite modern and bright. It has nice grounds for photographs to be taken in, plenty of space for our large families and the staff have been lovely.

So there you have it… a little bit about the venue :)

 

… disappointing. I only lost 0.5Ib. Not good at all. I could sneeze and loose 0.5Ib!

Still, I tried not to be too disheartened as I seem to be loosing weight in a ‘cycle’ of good loss, then small loss (or gain! :( ) and it doesn’t even seem to matter what I do. It was driving me mad that I couldn’t understand why I was doing good one week then the next week- bam! A gain for no reason… but now I’ve realised this cycle exists then maybe I can get over it.

So don’t know what this week will show as I missed WI in this week so I am due a bad week… still trying to be good and hoping I will show maybe a 1Ib loss.

Day 5 on the fishy diet…

July 21st, 2010

Breakfast: Activia Fat free
Lunch: Tuna, with 0.5tbsp each of exta light mayo and reduced fat salad cream (1syn) rocket, watercress and spinach salad with 2 tbsp fat free vinagrette (0.5 syn) cucumber and 2 Ryvita (HEB)
Snacks:  apple, Activia fat free

Dinner:  roasted salmon with black pepper. Lettuce, cucumber, spring onion, beetroot, mange tout, baby sweetcorn. Baby new potatoes, spring onion and seasoning with 1tbsp each  exta light mayo and reduced fat salad cream (2syns)

Total syns: 3.5syns

The lady who first had a fishy week and lost 8Ib and then posted about it on another forum has posted another loss of 4Ib this week! That’s 12Ib in 2 weeks! wow! Really hoping that’s a good sign I will reach my modest target of 3Ib tomorrow. :)

A Fishy Day 4 diary.

Lunch: 2 x Ryvita crispbreads (HEB) Smoked Salmon, 42g reduced fat cheese (HEA) rocket,watercress and spinach salad with 2 tbsp Hellmans FF vinagrette (0.5syns) Avtivia FF yog

Dinner: panfried Plaice fillet, carrots, broccoli and sweetcorn with 300g (frozen weight) McCains Rustic oven chips (3syns)
1/3Pt sugarfree strawberry jelly (0.5syn), strawberries, 12g Anchor Light aerosol cream (1syn)
Options hot choc (2syns)

..and everything is going swimmingly. ha ha ha .

Breakfast: 1 slice wm toast from 400g loaf (3syns) Scrambled egg made with a dash of milk (0.5syn) and smoked salmon
Lunch: 2 x Ryvita (HEB) with Tuna mayonnaise (1/2tbsp extra light mayo/ 1/2tbsp reduced fat salad cream=1 syn) and cucumber
Snack: 2x satsumas
Dinner: Baked Trout stuffed with couscous made with chillies, lime and coriander (1 tsp reduced fat butter used in baking 1.5syns). On a bed of rocket, watercress and spinach with 2tbsp Hellmans fat free vinagrette (0.5syn)

Syns for today: 6.5syns
Syns for week so far: 54.5syns approx

Sunday Food diary:

Breakfast- banana. Couscous, lettuce, sweetcorn, peppers and mackerel salad

Lunch- Lettuce, cucumber spring onion. 2 spoonfulls of egg fried rice, one spoonful of beef in black bean sauce. (Syning this as 5 syns as had very very little.Just enough to push around the plate and make it look like I was eating it.)

Dinner- Tuna pasta bake. (Tuna, pasta, carrot, broccolli, sweetcorn, tomatoes) 42g reduced fat cheese. (HEA)

Snack- Hifi bar (HEB)  16 x mikado choc sticks (8syns)

Total syns for day:   13
total syns for week: 48 approx

… during my internet travels around forums and such like I came across and interesting thread from a lady who had had a ‘fishy week’ on Slimming World. This is where she had based her diet around fish for a week. This lady was not especially large (around 150Ib) and had been on the SW for quite a long time but after her fishy week she had lost 8Ib. 8Ib in one week! Now that gets me thinking… I want a piece of this fishy action. From tomorrow I will be embarking on my own fishy week and I will update my food diary here daily.

Today I had half a fish day. This is due to already having a pre-arranged meal at Nando’s.

Another 2 bite the dust!

July 1st, 2010

2Ib lost this week. Starting to feel much better now it’s coming off steadily. Avoiding bread seems to be working, also going easy on pasta, potato and rice (though haven’t completely  cut out anything :) )

I keep forgetting to come back and update, silly me! In the three weeks since I updated last I have lost the 4Ib I put on, and another 3Ib since then. Hoping for another 2Ib this week then I will get my stone award (14Ib award)

My food diary for today:

Breakfast:
Activia fat free (Free) with couscous (Free) I know it sounds weird but it’s actually nice (honest!) and fills me up until lunch.

Lunch:
Salad- lettuce,spring onions, cucumber, egg, sliced new poatoes. (Free)
42g Cheese (HEA)
M&S Arbroath Hot Smoked Salmon 1 Syn
6x Mikado chocolate sticks 3 Syns

Dinner:
Tandoori Chicken (Chicken. Fat free yog, tandoori powder, lime juice) Free
3 x Pappadums 6 Syns (2 Syns per pappadum)
Raita (Fat Free yog, sugar free mint sauce, coriander) Free

Snack- Hi-fi bar (HEB)

Not snacked much today as quite full from all my free foods!

I rejoined SW tonight.. put 4 pounds over the last 6 weeks (has it been that long?! I meant to miss 3 or 4!) could be worse.

Food today:

Breakfast: couscous with Activia light yoghurt (Free)
Lunch: Red Thai style chciken breast fillets- tesco (free) salad (lettuce,carrott, red cabbage) (free) melon mix (free) 3x babybel light (A)
Snack: Hi-fi bar (B)

just deciding what to have for dinner (a bit late, i know) but it’s so hot I haven’t felt hungry.

Dinner: quick chicken stir-fry (free) Chicken, dark soy sauce + chinese 5 spice. Stir fry veg with light soy sauce. (Free)

Really thirsty now though… all that soy sauce! But it was yum…
