Nov. 4, 2009, Take 2

The text in my first post started highlighting itself and not letting me type anymore, but I didn’t want to totally re-write it, so I published it “as is”  with a dangling sentence at the end.  I couldn’t edit it either.  So, rest of post is here, but it’s not much more.

One quick meeting today, scheduled by the boss.  It will be to tell us about what it going down right now, which is some employee cuts that boss told me about yesterday.  Sad, but our company is having a hard time like so many others.  Our department is okay, but only by virtue of the fact that the lead admin is transferring out of our department and her position isn’t being replaced.  So I guess what happened with the lead is a blessing in disguise.

Other than that, nothing much to report.  I brought my lunch and snacks from home today.  Nothing going on tonight.  I should exercise.  Maybe I’ll do something at home tonight.

Okay, going to publish this before the text starts freaking out again.

Cuts seem to be a way of life in just about every industry these days. I guess we just need to keep thinking of ways to reinvent ourselves and to be frugal with our living.
Yep. You should exercise–even just some push ups, ab work and stretching would be good.

I loved hearing about your big smuggle & side salad. That is so smart and no one can complain because you purchased an item there. :D Me and the Mum do that when we go to movies–smuggle in our own treats, that is.

Happy to hear that the roast dinner went well. I always get nervous when I make them. I never know quite exactly how it’s going to turn out because I didn’t know how to buy the cut of meat. Well, NOW I have MARTHA to help. :) This Sunday is our big roast day.

I replied to your comment on the sewing blog, but I don’t quite know how it all works on that site yet, so I don’t know if you were notified or what!? I’m not picky about where you leave your comments either (you mentioned something to the effect of keeping the blogs separate at one point). I just want to share what I do (and learn) more in depth and this isn’t the place where I feel comfy doing it for obvious reasons.

I was wondering if you were going to begin sewing again, so I’m glad you mentioned it. You’re in luck in regards to replacing a zipper on denim…it’s way easier than other fabrics, such as a docker pant. Don’t be intimidated, if you are. If you need a guide, readers digest sewing book is very good and a person can get it at the library. But denim is an easy fabric to work with (I just replaced two this year)and you can redo seams easily, if needed. Okay, I should quit writing here, but I also wanted to let you know I’m looking forward to seeing your pillow when it’s completed! I hope you plan on sharing. :D

I think going out for lunch that is actually out - even if it’s eating your sandwich at McDs - is a good thing. It’s good to have a break! It’s too easy to spend a whole day at one’s desk.
