Weigh-In Wednesday

17 Jun 2009 In: Weight Loss Journey

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted, but I’m still on track.

I lost another 1.2 lbs this week bringing me in at

06/10/09 - 206.4

06/17/09 - 205.2

I was hoping to get down to 200 by vacation, but it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen. Unless I really buckle down and lose 5 lbs in the next week and a half.

Team Orange is doing an awesome job!  I can’t wait to see the leaderboard tomorrow to see where we stand.

Go TEAM ORANGE!

I also discovered a delightfully decadent dessert this week that I love, love, love!

Jello Dark Chocolate Pudding Cup - 60 Calories

Tablespoon of Natural Peanut Butter - 100 Calories

Heat the peanut butter ever so slightly then add to the pudding cup.  It is a little hard to eat, but it is sooooo good

Total: 160 Calories

The best thing about this is it is so decadent you don’t even know it’s only 160 Calories!

Weigh-In Wednesday/New Challenge

3 Jun 2009 In: Weight Loss Journey

First off I would just like to say, GO TEAM ORANGE!  We can do this!  The sisterhood put a new spin on this challenge by putting everyone into teams.  As you can tell, I am a part of Team Orange!  I like it because it matches my blog layout! LOL!

As for my weigh-in today, I’m down 2 more lbs exactly!

05/27/09 - 209.4

06/03/09 - 207.4

I am so very proud of myself for this accomplishment.  I’m only half a pound away from 10 lbs lost since the end of April/beginning of May, wow!  I have always felt like I was only prone to gaining weight, not losing it!  And these past couple of weeks it seems like I’ve really hit a stride and the weight is practically falling off!  I can finally see that being under 200 again is definitely in the near future for me.

So food today, I haven’t had much of an appetite because I think I’ve been drinking too much caffeine and it upsets my stomach.  I was nauseous this morning when I got to work, and I had to make myself eat a Kashi Bar.

B - Kashi Bar

L - One italian sausage, sauce, cheese, flatout wrap, and cheese stick

D - Sweet and Sour Pork (Yum!) recipe from Cook Yourself Thin with a little rice

S - no snacks so far, but I might have dessert after dinner

My Plate Calories sans Dessert - 1374

Week 3 Day 1 C25K

1 Jun 2009 In: Life in General

I started Week 3 of C25K on Friday, but it kicked my butt so hard I felt like I needed to repeat day one over again.  Tonight I did just that, and I felt amazing.  I did 10 minutes warm up on the elliptical then about 30 on the treadmill.  Tomorrow, I start back on 30 Day Shred.  I’m excited to start again, actually.

Food today was pretty blah

B - I was in a hurry so I had a Nature Valley Trail Mix Bar

L - Leftover Rotisserie Chicken on Salad greens with yellow cauliflower and light italian

D - One Italian sausage on a Flatout Wrap with sauce and cheese

S - Kashi Bar, Cheese Stick, some strawberries, and a light and fit with Kashi

My Plate Total - 1507

We start a new challenge on the sisterhood this week.  We are doing a Biggest Loser style challenge with teams.  I can’t wait to get started and kick some butt!  I’m very competitive if you couldn’t tell already.  I think that will help me with this and keep me motivated.

05/27/09 - 209.4

Loss of 2.6 lbs!!!!

Total Loss so far 7.5 lbs

I am so proud of myself.  I am finally out of the 2teens!  Never gonna be there again!  Onederland here I come.  After this loss I really think I can make it my goal of being under 200 before vacation at the end of June!

I also did my measurements this week and I’ve lost a total of 3.5 inches in the past two weeks.  I didn’t measure last week.  My chest measurement hasn’t went down any and I really wish it would!  I hate having big boobs!  However, I lost another inch off my waist, so woohoo!  I also lost about an inch off each arm, but I’m calling it an inch because it is so close!

My Weekend so Far

24 May 2009 In: Life in General

I had a marathon gardening session with my friend Kat on Saturday.  I had a blast, burned a butt load of calories, and helped her make her yard pretty.  Then Daniel and I went out with her and husband and another couple for a date night.  We went to BD’s Mongolian Grill.  It was good.  I got kind of a bland sauce though because I had a lady behind me rushing me to pick my sauce.  Plus, I think I should have just gotten seafood. The steak was kind of tough.  I ate only about 3/4 of my bowl with a little brown rice and some extra sauce.  Then we went to Culver’s for dessert.  I had my favorite Cashew Caramel Sundae, although there was NO CARAMEL, it was still good.  At least it cut down on the calories.  We had a blast just sitting around chatting with everyone.  I think it was good for Daniel, because he has felt so cut off since we left Louisville.  He had a lot in common with the other two guys there and they hit it off. So yeah!

Today food wise was pretty ugh….

B - Strawberry Light and Fit with some Kashi Go Lean

L - Turkey Meatballs, sauce and a Sandwich thin

D - Wendy’s…ugh.  I got grilled chicken, but I did eat the fries…ugh.  I feel like I need

to drink a million glasses of water now.  After eating real food for so long, fast food just

doesn’t sit with me that well anymore.  We were in Batesville driving past a couple of houses and just exploring so we were kind of stuck with choices on food.

S - 3/4 Bowl Kashi, skim milk, part of a banana

My Plate Calories - 1591

Exercise - I went to the gym and did the 2nd day of Week 2 on the C25K.  I felt really good even after gardening all day yesterday.  Although my hamstrings are sore after all the bending over!

C25K….let’s try again!

21 May 2009 In: Weight Loss Journey

Today was a good day.  Work was great.  I think I made a new friend! It’s nice to have someone to talk with that actually shares some of my interests.

Food today was good as well!

B - Cottage Cheese, Strawberry Light n Fit, Blackberries, Strawberries, Kashi Go Lean

L - I had a BIG lunch…(I forgot my Flatout Bread for sandwiches so I made up for it by eating my snacks with my lunch) 4 slices of Natural Ham (no nitrates!), two Laughing Cow wedges, sliced tomato, banana, and 100 calorie pack…whew!

D - 4 oz of lean Turkey made into meatballs with oatmeal (This is really good!), sauce, and a Sandwich Thin

S - Sandwich Thin with ham, one slice of cheese and Dijon mustard

MyPlate Calories - 1382

Exercise - I went to the gym and started C25K again…. I started with Week 2 because Week 1 is just way too easy.  So today is Week 2 Day 1.  I’m actually thinking about signing up for a 5K in the fall to motivate myself.  I’ve read in several blogs that this a good way to keep yourself motivated.  I’m thinking about doing the Susan G Komen Walk/Run in Louisville in September.  Maybe I can get a friend or two to join me!

Back to the Shred

L - Two Flatbread wraps, with hummus and lots of veggies

Exercise - Level 1 of 30 Day shred.  I’m saying this is my first day even though instead of doing 10 days on level 1 I’ll be switching to Level 2 when the sisterhood does in a couple of days.  Level 1 seemed so easy tonight.  I couldn’t believe it when it was over and I didn’t feel like death.  I guess that’s what you would call progress.

Weigh-In Wednesday!

20 May 2009 In: Life in General

04/22/09 - 216.9

05/06/09 - 215.7

05/20/09 - 212!!!!!!

I lost 3.7 lbs!  Almost exactly 5 lbs total in 4 weeks. This weeks loss was with almost no exercise, because I’ve been nursing sore knees and an injured achilles tendon.

Sorry I haven’t been around that much at the Sisterhood.  I went to WV to see my Mom last week for a few days and that threw me off big time. Plus, I started a new job on Thursday.  It’s only a temp job, but hey a job is a job.  I also injured myself from pushing myself too hard and literally could not do the Shred.  I’m starting on Level 2 again today so I’m kind of with all of you on the Shred.  I can’t wait to get back to it and see some more results!

Back on the wagon

18 May 2009 In: Life in General

No excuses, just had a couple of busy weeks with the new job and going to WV for a few days.  I haven’t been eating terribly but I haven’t been keeping tabs either.

I did the 30 day shred until Day 21 but could not get myself through Level 3 and felt like I really let myself down.  I haven’t really exercised since.  I need to get past this all or nothing mentality, or I’m never going to get anywhere.  My mind and most of my body are ready for high impact exercise, but my knees scream whenever I push too hard and then I’m hobbled for a couple of days.  This usually succeeds in throwing me completely off track.

Today I’m back to counting calories hardcore, and it’s actually easier now that I’m working again.  No sitting around the house with food to tempt me.  Also I drink a lot more water!  They have ice, which is kind of scarce around here without an icemaker.

Here’s my menu for today.

B - Strawberry Dannon Light and Fit Yogurt, 1/4 cup of cottage cheese, 1 cup Kashi Go Lean, and two sliced strawberries

L - Spring Green salad with a little chicken, tomato, sugarsnaps, broccoli slaw, Newman’s Own Light Honey Mustard Yum! and a mozzarella cheese stick

D - Extra Lean 1/3 pound burger, feta cheese, Arnold Sandwich Thin, Salad with carrots, cucumber, broccoli slaw, sugar snaps, and light italian dressing

S - Two 100 calorie packs and a banan

Total Calories according to MyPlate - 1362

No exercise today.  Heading back to the gym tomorrow evening.
