30 Day Shred Level One Graduation (Day 10)

So, ten days done and dusted! I did Level Two today. I found most of it reasonably straight forward but I nearly cried each time she said ‘plank’.. which was often. Traumatic. Above is my photgraphic evidence of progress. I was actually impressed by how much difference is visible. The little muffin around by waistband is nearly gone and my sides look smoother. I couldn’t see much/any difference in the ’side’ view until my boyfriend pointed out how much ‘higher’ and rounder my butt looks.. where it was a bit saggy before its starting to look a bit perkier!

Have been eating ok, haven’t gone over 1250 net a day for the last week so I would imagine I’ve lost a pound or so in weight too but I haven’t got scales so its all speculation!

Next Wednesday is my birthday (22!) then on Thursday I’m going to the salon to get my hair and eyebrows/lashes done. Then Friday I fly home to NZ for my dad’s 50th birthday shindig. I bought a dress for it last night - 40% off! So lots to look forward to.

Here today… here tomorrow, I hope

This is my very first post.

I guess it makes sense, then, to make it something of an introduction.

I’m a girl.

I’m a student, an a sales assistant, and a law clerk.

I’m 21, but 22 pretty soon.

I’m 5′3 (but on a good day I can stretch to 5′4).

I live in sunny Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, but I’m really a Kiwi.

My username, ‘Kia kaha’ is Maori phrase for ‘Be Strong’. It is a common affirmation in NZ.

I am currently about 20lbs over weight. This is an estimate, as I haven’t got scales. But I reckon I weigh around 135lbs, and thats 20 or 25lbs above the weight I was 20 months ago. Scary.

At about 113 lbs, I feel great. I feel fit and strong and healthy. Thats what I miss most, the strength.

So this is my mission for not so much weight loss as much as finding that strength again, through exercise and stopping putting utter rubbish into my body.

I’ve been ‘on the wagon’ for three days now. It is also my third day of Jillian Michaels’ 30 Day Shred.

Which I love, just quietly.

For interest, I present here three photos of myself. As you can see, I am not OVERWEIGHT overweight. But I am certainly over my comfortable weight, and there is some squidging there that shouldn’t be! I want to nip this in the bud, where it still feels reasonably easy to get back to where I want to be.

Sorry about the creepy clown face.
