How did I lose a pound this week?
Exercise: 1 hour treadmill, eating: a bit out of control. Predicted I had actually gained a few pounds… puzzling to see the scale go down a number, but a happy surprise for sure.
My 2nd day of calorie counting and I completely lost it. Maybe scrutinizing my food consumption isn’t healthy for me. I did fine Wednesday with it, but oh lordy, yesterday was BAD…

Started out making a smoothie for breakfast, made it bigger than usual. Proceeded to drink ALL of it (435 or so calories). My husband’s out all day, so it seemed like a good time keep going, to eat a little this, eat a little that… Now I feel gross. Gurgle, blurp– eck.

Tracked all my calorie consumption today:
Grits w/margarine, sugar and salt (comfort food from my childhood)
Coffee w/half & half
1/2 apple w/peanut butter, 6 pretzels, a few almonds
1/2 bagel sandwich w/cheese & turkey ham
burrito w/spanish rice, cheese, olives, refried beans
Nonfat yogurt w/strawberries, sugarfree fudgesicle

Rewards… need to give it more thought. The biggies are a swimsuit, bras, sexy night gown, and jeans that FIT my new shape!
Okay, I’m doing the dreaded calorie count, (ugh!), starting today. It reminds me of my mom, back in the 70’s and 80’s, with her little calorie counter, tracking every crumb that passed her lips.
