No to #3 for sure. Like LM, we need to know if it's a permanent or baby tooth. I thought retainers were what kept teeth from "going back", even though as we age, they usually drift back forward to an overbite. I'd get a 4th opinion.

UNBELIEVEABLE about the 11K. XH must want to purchase something and had to clean up his credit...or he had a guilty conscience about supporting his kids. ?

FANTASTIC about the exercise and food plan. You are rockin' it girl.

Congrats on the cash, even if it's already spent on orthodontia, LOL. What a decision. My totally inexpert opinion that you didn't ask for is that it seems weird to pull one of the 4 front teeth (#1). Four teeth sounds like a lot (#3), but at least pulling 1 in each quadrant sounds balanced. How will there be room to straighten the teeth if none are removed, as #2 believes? Hmmm. Good luck!

Hope the rest of your day is as good as the beginning!

You are such a gem on here, you know that? I LOVE reading your Blog.

As for Centergy, I didn't go. *looks at you with buggy eyes* BUUUUUUUUT only because I went to the gym straight after work to do another 30 minutes of HIIT cardio. So the idea of returning to the gym at 7:30pm didn't appeal to me. This SUNDAY ... I'm doing it. Swear.

As for the salmon recipe, super easy you’ll laugh:

1 serving of salmon - usually the length of a cheque book and maybe half the width

1 tsp of pesto

*smear pesto on the skin side of the salmon (if you prefer skinless that’s great as well)

*salt and pepper the pink side - I prefer to pepper it then use Mrs. Dash (a great salt substitute)

* coat PESTO-SIDE of salmon in fine bread crumbs (any kind will do but you can use panko (japanese bread crumbs) or whole wheat (preferred) bread crumbs

* broil in toaster oven … YES A TOASTER OVEN! *SMILING* … for 8-10 (even less) minutes until bread-crumb coating is crispy or golden brown then bake @ 400°F for another 5 minutes

* ENJOY!

Okay, I could use some help deciding on treatments anyway, so here goes. DS has an overbite and he has crowding of the teeth on the lower set.

Ortho # 1: Really nice office/technology, nice staff, wants to remove one of the front middle teeth (lower) to make room (one of the four middle teeth between those lower eye teeth, I think? not sure what they are called. Best price by far!

Ortho # 2: Awesome office, most hi-tech, uses SureSmile, 1 mile from home, nice staff. Doesn't recommend pulling ANY teeth, says that will make him look weird as an adult, but my dentist has concerns about not pulling anything at all because when he is older and braces are off, things can go back. Most expensive.

Orth # 3: Office feels like you are walking into a time warp. Didn't do pictures or x-rays (the others had his pics/x-rays immediately up on a huge flat panel TV screen for me). This one recommends putting on the braces without extracting anything, and then re-evaluating as treatment proceeds. If he decides that it won't work and we need to pull teeth, he will pull FOUR. Says it has to be even top/bottom/front/side (even though there is no crowding on top). Will pull pre-molars. Four?? Makes me nervous. In between other two prices, but I definitely don't think I am going with him anyway.

Soooooooo ... HELP!

DS's dentist says that she has serious reservations about pulling the tooth #1 wants to pull, but she also is not sure that the work #2 will do will last ... which is why she sent us to #3.

Argh!
