Thanks again for all the comments and hugs, ladies.
SBFF is bipolar.
Reading about it now, it ALL clicks. Explains her to a T. Her sister just confided in me that her mother is - “not officially diagnosed” - but has been for years. Her sister is an RN and has been wanting their mother to get help - but she no longer has contact with the family. Actually, nost of her 4 sisters don’t have regular contact with their parents, I knew there was some bad situations growing up but I never realized how bad. Anyway, SBFF is the “baby” of the family and has a better relationship with her parents than all her sisters.
They have started her on Lithium, no word on how long she will be there exactly just yet. The average is 5 days but now that she is diagnosed and on the meds, I don’t know if that will change things. She sounds surprisingly good. I don’t think she is shocked, her therapist threw this around a bit in the past but then said she wasn’t. Anyway, she is up doing activities - morning yoga, arts and crafts, group therapy, etc. I feel so much better, although I am still a little heart broken for her. This means worrying about children she may have in the future, staying on her meds, etc. I just found a book online I am going to order so I can understand more about it.
Slumber party was fun, but I am glad it is over, lol. I am going to go on that date tonight. And right now, I am going to check the temperature outside and see if the kids want to go for a walk.
Hugs, love you all!
