Well, it’s official, I only have 2 working days left in my notice period before I start my new job. It’s a good feeling, and everyone’s been really nice. I’m having a leaving thing next Wednesday and a lot of people are coming, which is lovely of them. There’s two birthday parties of people from work this weekend as well which will be fun :) I know that alcohol is one of the biggest culprits for empty calories, so I’m not drinking much (if at all) at the first birthday party, maybe a little at the second but I’m allowing myself to drink on my leaving party. I’m not a big drinker anyway, but I want to enjoy myself.
I was exhausted by the time I got home today! I think it’s because the humidity levels have been sky-high (at least by Scotland’s standards) this last week, so even with air-conditioning on, the shop-floor was stiflingly hot. Worse than that though is that I’m required to be on my feet all day serving at the tills and talking to customers, and we’re not allowed to drink anything - not even water - when we’re on the floor so I was seriously dehydrated. Still have a bit of a headache but it’s getting better; I’ve drunk 2 and a half litres in about an hour and a half so not too bad. I had a sleep when I got home, it was good!
I got my step-counter today as well, I’m pretty impressed with it so far but want to try it out for a couple of days before I give a final verdict. I put it on when I came home for lunch, and have done……. 4876 steps so far. Not brilliant given we’re meant to do 10, 000 a day but not bad given that I had a sleep for 2 hours. I was going to go for a walk tonight by my feet are really badly swollen from the heat so I need to keep them up tonight.
I’m feeling a little downcast today, but I think it’s just with work and the temperature and being tired. My strict portion sanctions begin tomorrow, I’m a little nervous. I know I have portions way to big and I don’t need that much food, but I hope I’m not totally starving. My boyfriend has an interview tomorrow as well for a games design company, and they need to accept him for him to get on to his games design course, so we’re both a bit anxious for him, but I’m sure he’ll do great.
