Day 2: Exhausted

I am soooo tired today. I had trouble falling asleep last night and didn’t truly get to sleep until after 3 am. I slept until 10 this morning then woke up and did Cardioke. I LOVE this DVD. It’s so much fun, and I burned 500 calories. I was going to do some strength training today also, but I don’t think I have the energy right now. I didn’t eat breakfast since I woke up so late, but I had a decent lunch..white beans and rice. I have a banana and some grapes to snack on for later. I need to start planning what I’m going to eat tomorrow. Me and my boyfriend and taking my Grandma out to eat tomorrow to Texas Roadhouse, it’s her Christmas present from us. She usually goes alone, so I figured us taking her out is wayyy better than a gift card. But now I have to work those calories in to my day tomorrow. I’m also going out to eat Thursday. It’s my birthday and my boyfriend is taking me to a restaurant called Quarterview. Then either Saturday or Sunday we’re going out to eat AGAIN for my birthday, but this time it’s my parents taking me out and we’re going to Outback. The meal from Quarterview will actually serve as a few meals because they’re portion sizes are huge. I will start planning all of those meals today.
On a more fun note, I have a gift card for a massage, spa manicure, and spa pedicure from my boyfriend’s parents that I’m planning on using next week. I also want to get my haircut while I’m there so I will start looking for a style today. I will post a picture when I decide. Hmm..I need to start taking pictures of myself also so that I’ll have pics to compare as I lose weight. I’ll have to charge my camera batteries.
Day 1: A New Beginning

Well today didn’t go over too bad food wise. I had a 3 egg omelet this morning with a little bit of cheese. Lunch was a PB&J sandwich and for a snack I had a Special K bar. For dinner I had noodles with a little bit of butter and a little bit of salt, with some toast. For a pm snack I had a 100 calorie pack of mini-hostess cakes. I know it’s not the healthiest food, but it’s all I had to work with for today. As for exercise, I started the C25K program this morning. I was only able to do half of Day 1 because of the idiots parish workers who were cutting the grass around the walking track. They kept almost running over everyone with the mowers. They almost ran me over 3 times, and I had to jump out of the way several other times. Then the grass they were blowing around aggravated my allergies so much that I couldn’t breathe too well and my head felt like it was going to explode. Tomorrow I am planning on doing a workout DVD and a little bit of strength training. As of today my weight was 176.6.
My Story

Well here’s my story:
My name is Kasey and I will be 23 this Thursday, January 7. I am a recent college graduate who still is not sure exactly what I want to do. It will be either a zookeeper or teacher. I have been overweight most of my life. I was a competitive cheerleader in high school and I still maintained my larger size despite the extreme workouts and practices. Last Spring I had lost 15 pounds (went from 182 to 167). I was doing good until I got fitted for a bridesmaid dress for my cousins wedding. I decided I needed to maintain until the wedding, which wasn’t until August (the fitting was the end of May or beginning of June). Well I went on a vacation with my family and everything went downhill from there. We went to an amusement park in Florida and ate only junk the whole time. During the summer I was also taking 12 hrs. at school, therefore having no extra time for exercise. Then Fall happened, where I was taking 19 hrs. I had to quit my job to make more time for schoolwork, therefore couldn’t afford to buy my own food anymore. My parents tend to not buy healthy food, that is when they buy food for the house in general. So here I am, back at 177 pounds. I am out of school now and recommitted to myself. I still do not have a job, therefore food will still be a challenge, but I will do my best to correctly monitor portion sizes and stay away from fast food. Hopefully keeping this blog will help me stay on track and recognizes patterns with my weight loss.
I am a calorie counter. As of right now I am trying to stay between 1400-1700 calories per day. According to Sparkpeople, this is a good range for losing 1.5 lbs per week. This is my first time aiming this high, so I will try it for a few weeks and see how it goes. If this doesn’t seem to work I will go down to 1200-1500 per day. As for exercise, my plan for now is to do C25K three days per week, Wii Fit four days per week, a workout DVD 2 days per week, and strength training 2 days per week. This seems doable for me at the moment. I have a GoWear Fit to monitor calorie burn so I will also be monitoring my net calories to compare to my weightloss. Well that’s it for now. I will try to post at least once per day!
