40lbs down, new pic and new goals achieved!

I’ve made it to the 40 pound mark. I weighed at 260.1 this morning, and 39.9 is close enough for me to claim it :D So there’s a new photo posted under that tab, and a few new mini goals have been achieved as well, so there are new dates under that tab.

260 is a good mark for me! I’ve never been this low as an adult, and the shopping trip with my mom yesterday just made it so much better. I managed to fit into size 20 jeans (at target, and old navy!) AND even managed to squeeze into a pair of 18s! I was so happy, I literally danced in the fitting room.

In the pics I wore the same outfit as the first one I took so it’s easier to spot the changes. I’m really happy and really proud of myself right now. 40 pounds lost! new clothes! time for a new charm! Seriously, this is the motivation to keep going. This happy sense of achievement when I hit a minigoal just really can’t be explained.

The hard part is, I can’t do much on the exercise front since my foot is stuck in one of those obnoxious plastic boots due to a torn ligament in my right ankle. Oh well. I made the adjustment on My Fitness Pal to account for lack of exercise and it lowered my calorie goal to keep my weight loss where I want to be. I will not let an injury give me the excuse to give up. I REFUSE! :)

I’VE LOST 25LBS!!! :D

Today I can officially move my ticker past the 25lb mark. I’m so excited about that! Even if I don’t lose any more weight in the next 2 weeks, I will have done what so many women do not manage to do… lose a significant amount of weight before my wedding!

Okay, so I was kinda bad today, and had a peanut butter cookie and some potato chips, BUT, they fit into my calories, so I didn’t go over to have them… And I don’t feel the least bit guilty! If I see a gain from the salt in the chips, then so be it. I enjoyed sticking my toe back into the ‘junk food’ pool for a meal. What’s the rule? “Everything in moderation!”…. I think I did just that!

Unfortunately tomorrow’s weigh in will likely be a little bit off due to the fact that I have to work at 6am, so I won’t get much down time to let the day’s food wear off… s’ok! I almost always have a bounce up on Saturdays, then it goes back down plus a bunch during the week. Fingers crossed for 4.6 more pounds over the next 2 weeks! I would LOVE to be below 270 for my wedding!

Time to get that bracelet…

Just a quick check in… the scale this morning told me I can say good bye to the 280s for good! 278.2 and falling. I’m so excited! TOM didn’t ruin my week or my progress… 4.2lbs this week! I am so thrilled. I love when it falls off quickly like that!

I can’t write too much right now, as I have to head back to work, but I will definitely do a better update after busy-life dies down after Easter.

Alright ladies and gentleman, that’s a wrap on the 280s!

This morning the scale said 279.5 and I’m hoping that means goodbye to the 280s forever! I’ll do another progress pic, and order my bracelent! I’m so excited! (IF, and ONLY if tomorrow’s weigh in reflects the same, since it’s my official weigh in day, and when I change my ticker.)

It’s an all around good day. Hubby to be is on his way to pick me up after his doctor’s appointment, and we will be headed over to the court house to obtain our marriage license! We will be legally allowed to wed. Woo! One month until the big day…. think I can shed 10 more pounds?! I hope so!

Happy Sunday People!

I hope everyone is doing well! I’m having a splendid day so far. I’ve cleaned my kitchen, gotten 2 loads of laundry done, did some exercises on the wii fit (saw 281.1 on the weigh in!) and had an event that just made me want to dance around.

I can’t call it a ‘non scale victory’ because it involves the scale, but it’s kinda strange. I had gone upstairs to get a basket of laundry that needed washing, and on a whim at the bottom of the stairs (where I keep my scale) I decided to step on with that heavy basket of laundry… AND THE NUMBER POPPED UP WITH MY START WEIGHT! I can’t believe I’ve been shrugging off my “only 20ish pounds” lost! I used to have the equivalent of that heavy basket of laundry attached, most likely, to my mid section!  It’s no wonder my knees and ankle don’t hurt as much at the end of the day anymore.

It’s hard to believe how much you’ve actually lost until you pick up something that weighs as much as your loss. It’s amazing! I recommend it for anyone in a situation similar to mine. Starting out with a lot of weight to lose, and not too far into your progress yet. Don’t knock those first few pounds! They add up!

Non-scale victories! YAY!

This evening I decided to get dressed (out of my sweats and tank and into jeans and a tee) and head over to my mom’s place again. It’s like I’m testing myself to see if I can avoid her delicious southern cooking. Well, I did it. I avoided the ham steak, and the velveeta shells and cheese, and the green beans she seasons with sugar and bacon grease. HELL YES. I think that was a pretty good thing all on it’s own, however…

I couldn’t wear my size 24 jeans over there. They wouldn’t stay up. I grabbed a pair that was clean, that I hadn’t worn in a couple weeks, but I pulled them up and went to button them, and realized they were already buttoned! AWESOME! And my size 22 jeans that I put on instead? They weren’t all that tight. They weren’t falling off like the 24s, but they weren’t exactly cutting off circulation either. EVEN BETTER than the food avoidance, IMO.

Lastly! I was doing my laundry, hauling the baskets up and down the stairs…. and I didn’t get winded. Like at all. Usually when I get to the top with a full load I’m a little out of breath, but not today!

It makes me so happy to see little things happening to show that what I’m doing is good for me!

A minor victory!

I went over to my mother’s house for dinner tonight after working an early shift (6am - 3pm) at work. I was bone tired, and mom said she was making dinner, come on over. HEY FREE FOOD I DIDN’T HAVE TO COOK YAY!

So I went over there to find out she’d put a frozen lasagna in the oven, and made a berry cobbler. She had also fried mozzarella sticks, as well as made some garlic bread. TON of greasy, fattening, sodium laden food that i absolutely would have LOVED to dig into. Well, after checking my calories, I decided to have dinner with my family, which included a very small piece of the lasagna (I’m talking 2″x2″ if that), a single cheese stick, a small piece of the bread, a huge pile of carrots, a fat free yogurt, and like 3 bites of the cobbler. Washed down with a very large glass of water.

Funny thing was, it used to be that I’d have a huge chunk of the lasagna, 2 pieces of bread, 3 or 4 cheese sticks, no carrots, and a huge helping of the cobbler, with ice cream. Tonight, the small meal I limited myself to was enough to fill me up, without feeling painfully full.

I think, regardless of what the scale says tomorrow, that was a victory in itself.
