Hey Jessica! I'm so glad you're back on and blogging!

So, you asked about weights and abs, which is kind of complicated haha. When I lived abroad two years ago, I went to a gym where they set you up with a weights routine which is what taught me how to use all of the different machines.
If you belong to a gym I bet there is someone there who can show you how to use them. I do a variety of both free weights and machine weights and do two different rotations that I alternate 5 days a week. I do machines that work out my back, arms and legs as well as doing squats with a 30 lb barbel, bicep curls with a 40 lb barbel along with many other exercises for my calves and arms etc. I try to increase the weight every few weeks. I also do a bunch of ab exercises including using the captains chair, using the ball to do crunches on, crunches, bicycle crunches among others. While I think doing weights and abs has really helped me get strong, I think if you are going to start doing them at the gym you should have someone show you how to use the machines and what weights to use so that you don't hurt yourself.

I'm glad you're back!
