		<description>Hi Jessica,

Hey ya stopped by my blog (thanks btw!) and left a comment but no link to your own blog. I found ya though. =D

I'm on the Atkins diet, so yeah, I do eat a lot of meat, mostly chicken because I'm also counting calories as well as carbs. I don't know much about the whole protein thing except that protein makes you feel fuller longer, so it's a good thing to include it in a meal so you're not hungry five minutes later.

I googled it though, and here's what I found:

"Another study, reported in the Journal of Nutrition, showed that a high-protein diet combined with exercise enhanced weight and fat loss and improved blood fat (lipid) levels.

"Our research suggests that higher-protein diets help people better control their appetites and calorie intake," says researcher Donald Layman, PhD, a professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign."

Good luck on your weight loss journey!

Eileen
