******UPDATE.1.24.2012******
Now I’m 24, and I’ve been working as an Engineer for 2 years as of tomorrow! I’m still chugging along on my weight loss journey. I love to dance. I love to run. And I love chocolate =) And I now weigh around 154 pounds… below (at age 22) I was at 181. Yay me!!!!!!
*******<end.of>UPDATE******
I am 22 years old and 5′3″, recently graduated from college. At the moment I’m in search of a job (economy is not too great for the class of 2009), but the silver lining of that is I have lots of time to focus on improving my habits and health. I can work out whenever I want, and cook as often as I want. And I can’t afford to eat out, which is definitely helpful too!
“Nothing can taste as good as being thin feels.”
I have tried to lose weight before, but I didn’t ever plan out HOW I would do it. I have made the decision that I WANT to, but I never followed through to actually make it happen. This time is different. I am laying out a map for myself to follow. And the most important part is that if I stray away from the weight-loss path, I can return to it easily, instead of feeling lost and hopeless.
“Aim for consistency, not perfection.”
When I started this journey, I was at my highest recorded weight, 189 pounds. So far I am down 7.5 pounds to 181.5… so far… but this is only the beginning….
“It’s not about motivation, it’s about commitment.”
My overall goal is to lose 60 pounds, and weigh 129 pounds. Now, that seems like a LOT of pounds to shed! So I’m breaking it down into mini-goals. As I reach each one, I’ll add the date I achieved it. I have no idea if the clothing sizes and scale will match up in the order listed. That’ll be interesting to find out. You can see how my progress is on those mini goals here. Well here goes nothing!
I CAN do this. And I WILL do this.
