Setting some goals and sticking to them!

Well since posting on here has become so irregular..i am going to make more of an effort to post everyday….I will post everyday. Hopefully this keeps me more accountable for my choices.

Things have been crazy….little excercise and a sweet tooth craving everything bad for me.  I tried to combat this by buying Fibre1 bars….the chocolate ones and even having one doesnt soothe the craving. ugh!! The weather has gotten better and so that excuse for my lack of going out for walks isnt working.

The scale isnt budging one way or another……nor up nor down!! I dont want to stay at my current weight and so i must do something about it.

Stress lately is becoming my worst enemy….my son is having huge issues with his moods and we are struggling to get him the help that he so desperately needs.  My family is now talking to me again and with that comes more stress …..the stress of dealing with everyone elses problems has been put upon me.  Ive been grumpy lately…tired and just stressed beyond belief.  I need to find an outlet to rid myself of it and what better way than through excercise!

I`ve been angry with myself for doing sooo well during the pregnancy and now not being able to focus on the diet/lifestyle changes that i did before.  Where did my motivation and determination go?? I am too tired to move my big ole body but yet Little noelle is sleeping all night sooo i am not tired for that reason.

Any advice on how to get back up onto the bandwagon would be greatly appreciated!!!

  1. as the Queen of re-starts I’ll tell you what usually works for me :

Making a list of the healthy habits I want to have in my life and how I see a future healthy life (my size, the activities I’ll be able to do, etc)

Set a starting date that makes sense for me (usually I need some mental preparation)

Make a list of ways I think I can get myself to lose weight

Start slowly with just a few things from that list - I find the good habits snowball quickly when you just concentrate on a few - for me it’s usually weighing in regularly and keeping a food diary that are keys, and maybe specific diet changes or exercise - I usually start with no more than 3

rewards - I dont always do this but it’s been successful for me in the past. A new CD, a manicure, a bubble bath, etc..

realization that it’s not fair that I have a lousier metabolism than other people, but that I can only deal with what I have. That it’s going to be hard to do but that staying at my current weight is even harder. That there will never be a “good” time, I just have to do it.

I’ve had periods when I’ve benefited a lot from forums or my blog. At other times it doesnt seem to matter.

Hope that gave you some good ideas - good luck!
