Slippage

Plateaus suck and I’m on one.

Things I’m doing right:

Being Mindful-aware of my food choices; this sounds good when it means taking responsibility for what I eat and tending to business so I see results

Balanced - 5 to 10 fruit and vegetable servings, 2-3 protein or dairy servings, 3-5 whole grains, 1 or fewer fat servings;  this is a good practice.

Eating Breakfast (never skip), usually 1 C cereal and fruit, sometimes yogurt w fruit and nuts or granola;  ditto - a good thing, breakfasts are a strong point.

Walking - with the dog, rarely less than an hour a day, usually more. Frequently at the beach with the dog off-leash so we both can hustle. My first walk Monday through Friday is usually before the sun is up, the last one is after dark; Walking, romping and hiking with Jackson is my salvation. I want to be with Jackson all the time, even right now when I’m stealing time from him by blogging!

Bringing healthy snacks to work - sliced red peppers, apples, Laughing Cow cheese wedges, plain yogurt with nuts and cranberries; budgeting and using ONLY cash to buy food and gas weekly has made it oddly harder to shop for healthy foods and calls for ingenuity, time and attention, things I’m woefully short on at the end of the weekday.

Water - drinking at least 8 glasses a day;

Doing at least one long walk or hike with the dog each weekend day; impacted by WINTER IN MAINE and keeping within my gas budget

Things I can do better:

Tracking - until very recently I tracked everything I ate daily at www.thedailyplate.com , and I also tracked every minute I walked. Now I have trouble - I start but don’t finish the day… some of my favorite people on the site have stopped tracking and I miss them;

Taking peppermint puffs from the dish on the front desk daily, average 4 to 8 puffs a day. Friday when she puts out chocolate I may have five or more of the minis (like yesterday). I track them, but not the peppermint.

Buying sugared fruit slices - This is new - I bought one or two at a convenience store when I stopped for coffee but found a couple of candy stores where they can be purchased by the pound. I have so far in the past three weeks consumed a whole pound of them.

Eating in the evening instead of stopping when I’m satisfied.

Water consumption is slipping (I’m drinking as I write this).

Too much feel good and distraction… too little sticking to business, which is seeing results st the scale.

This mini-vacation from weight loss progress must stop, it’s gone on long enough.

What I’m going to do:

Nothing from the candy jar this week. Nothing from the cafeteria table or the Product Development kitchen either.

Work on the satisfaction factor and stop for 30 minutes after every installment of dinner.

Nothing after 7:30 PM. No yogurt before bed.

Drink the water.
