Goodness. I wasn’t sure where to write.

I read something about 3 fat chicks yesterday and decided to look it up today… I belong to the mydailyplate website, have been tracking my food there for just over a year and have lost a bit over 40 pounds since Jan 23rd 2008.

I’m very happy with my progress and the fact I did it myself, but a few things - I gained 5 or 6 pounds at the end of the Xmas holiday season and got tipped over feeling I’ve sabotaged my weight loss progress. It seems like I’m having some trouble getting back on track. I’m trying to shake things up a bit, change my routine, try a slightly different focus.

I still have about 40 pounds to go to get to my goal, where I think my body will be happiest and healthiest. It may seem corny but I want to live the rest of my life at a weight where I can move about, do what I want, instead of being confined because my joints can’t take the strain.

So I’m hoping adding this blog will be a strategy I can get excited about, shake me out of my plateau.  I actually started my own weight loss blog on squarespace three years ago but didn’t understand the blog thing so made not real progress with that.  I have one friend on thedayplate who’s incredibly motivational for me but she’s been having problems too.

So now I’m hoping to make some connections. I’m too isolated.

  1. I’m just getting back on this site, as well, after keeping an on-again off-again blog last year that helped me lose about 20 pounds. I have about 60 to go; I’m also trying to change up my routine and hope it kicks my ass into high gear again.
What changes are you making in your exercise and food routine and what do you normally do?
Keep up the good work, keep us all posted, good luck, godspeed and all that!

  2. oh I KNOW how you feel!

Stupid me- I started my diet right after thanksgiving at 221 pounds. I lost 6 lbs, then gained back 4 of them during the holidays! Last month was TERRIBLE for me- I wasn’t losing any of it- I think January is just a bad month for many people- I read somewhere funny enough that January is the worst month for weight loss lol.

Now that I’ve hit February I’m now down 8 lbs, so I’ve lost the Christmas weight plus 2 more lbs.

Keep it up, you can get back on :) I know I’m not giving up!
