Sleep vs meatloaf and mashed taters
The morning meeting held me over longer than anticipated. So I was starved by the time I got out. It was after 11am. And of course I had not taken my morning medication with me either thinking I would be home by 9am. So the stomach acid was happily chewing its way through the lining of my stomach as well. Then the craving for meatloaf and mashed potatoes hit me half way home. OMG, I know that red meat is a no no on my restricted diet but I had to have meatloaf.
So I stopped at the store and got some very lean hamburger and all the fixins and got home and made meatloaf. By the time I finally got to bed it was after two in the afternoon and I was up by 5pm. The meatloaf was delicious as were the mashed and peas. I stayed within my allowed points enough that I even had a restricted shot of bailey’s irish cream with DH before he went to bed.
I savored my baileys and took the rest with me to sip on while I soaked in my tub surrounded by the smell of white ginger and listen to the ocean waves as the crashed against the shore break….awwww.
It is now 11:10pm, DH and the pups are asleep and the house is quiet and I am alone. Tired but not ready to go to bed as 11pm is a strange time for me to be in bed, so I will surf for a while and then read and finish the laundry. The life of a night nurse is lonely not only because the rest of the world sleeps while you are awake but often even in your own family you are a stranger.
The meatloaf was good ![]()
