our camping trip
Yesterday and today’s weight= 300.2
We went for our overnight camping trip on Tuesday at the Valley of Fire. Some of you might remember the last trip up there I swallowed a bee! I recalled that as soon as we approached the Moapa Indian reservation where I bought the ice cream to sooth my throat. It’s interesting to see the difference between the two trips. On the previous one, I was calorie counting and exercising regularly. I was full of energy, confidence, and had the strength to climb the rocks! This time I didn’t even think of doing that. I took two extremely short walks and didn’t care to do much more, except put around the camp and sit by the campfire. It was a great time though…I didn’t want to leave, and possibly next time we’ll do two nights. Our inflatable bed deflated. There was a little over 500 lbs on it. I’m not sure if that is why. Some of them are supposed to hold 600 lbs, but ours didn’t say anywhere on the box. It’s been used before so maybe it isn’t just my big butt that did it!
One can hope. I slept terrible. During the 5 hours time period that we were ’sleeping’, I woke up no less than 5 times. Warm enough though in the sleeping bag, but neither of us knew it was deflating. I thought my hip touching the ground was just a result of the weight in that region! I was probably pushing all of the air over to him and so we didn’t realize the facts until we both got up. I admit I was a little nervous sleeping in the wild secluded area. They do have cougars and mountain lions around, although they say no one ever sees them, they just see the footprints in the sand. There’s also snakes and scorpions, of which we didn’t come across. I did see one rabbit, one hawk, and a bunch of chipmunks.

If you look closely at this one below, you can see the kids climbing on this. Joshua is up top with the red shirt on and Joey is half way up in the white shirt. I’m so glad they didn’t fall!

This camp was awesome. The fire pit, two grills, shaded picnic table,
and the closed in area where we put the tent.
