mocket bup

Today’s weight= 299.4

When we took that overnight camping trip last week, I didn’t sleep well. I woke up at least 5 times in the five hour period we ’slept’. The next morning as we sat by the campfire and I saw the second state park truck pull up by the bathrooms, I mentioned how this one was going to clean them because I could see the mocket…I paused, trying to put the words together, and again it came out ‘mocket…bup’ I went ahead and followed through with the rest of the word because my mind was drawing a blank and unable to put the words and letters in the correct order. I was trying to say mop bucket. We got a great laugh out of that, to the point of tears rolling down. The kids were chatting at us but we were unable to stop laughing. The other night I recalled this around bed time and it took everything for me to not turn over and wake hubby up by saying “Mocket Bup.” We share a room with the two youngest and I was tired and knew that if I did that, we’d both be laughing and waking everyone up for the next 10 minutes or better.

Every Wednesday night at church, in the kids club, they have a theme. Yesterday was crazy hair day. We spiked some of Joshua’s hair blue and ran a comb in Joeys hair too.

On the diet aspect, I’m not even trying right now. The minimum I’ll stick to though, which is weighing in every Sunday.

I took my 5 yr old to see the 3D double feature of Toy Story and Toy Story 2. A bunch of calories, 3 hours, and $43 later, I’m a little disappointed. The movie was cute and nice to see on the big screen since I didn’t when it first came out years ago. Each time I see a 3D movie, though, I’m left wanting more cool effects.

Yesterday and today’s weight= 300.2

We went for our overnight camping trip on Tuesday at the Valley of Fire. Some of you might remember the last trip up there I swallowed a bee! I recalled that as soon as we approached the Moapa Indian reservation where I bought the ice cream to sooth my throat. It’s interesting to see the difference between the two trips. On the previous one, I was calorie counting and exercising regularly. I was full of energy, confidence, and had the strength to climb the rocks! This time I didn’t even think of doing that. I took two extremely short walks and didn’t care to do much more, except put around the camp and sit by the campfire. It was a great time though…I didn’t want to leave, and possibly next time we’ll do two nights. Our inflatable bed deflated. There was a little over 500 lbs on it. I’m not sure if that is why. Some of them are supposed to hold 600 lbs, but ours didn’t say anywhere on the box. It’s been used before so maybe it isn’t just my big butt that did it! One can hope. I slept terrible. During the 5 hours time period that we were ’sleeping’, I woke up no less than 5 times. Warm enough though in the sleeping bag, but neither of us knew it was deflating. I thought my hip touching the ground was just a result of the weight in that region! I was probably pushing all of the air over to him and so we didn’t realize the facts until we both got up. I admit I was a little nervous sleeping in the wild secluded area. They do have cougars and mountain lions around, although they say no one ever sees them, they just see the footprints in the sand. There’s also snakes and scorpions, of which we didn’t come across. I did see one rabbit, one hawk, and a bunch of chipmunks.

If you look closely at this one below, you can see the kids climbing on this. Joshua is up top with the red shirt on and Joey is half way up in the white shirt. I’m so glad they didn’t fall!

This camp was awesome. The fire pit, two grills, shaded picnic table,

and the closed in area where we put the tent.

Today’s weight= 299.6 (+2)

The past few days have been interesting. I could probably look up my calendar and find out that I’m about a week off from TOM because a couple days ago, I was beside myself with frustration, unhappiness, irritability, and some back pain. I did alright on the food part of it until yesterday.

I ate a whole bag of Baked Lays yesterday. About 1200 calories worth. It wasn’t all at once, but it was all in one day. It wasn’t out of any weird emotions either, it was just that I wanted them and didn’t make the right decision about it. I guess I have a new thing NOT to buy anymore. Really it was supposed to be for our upcoming trip but they got opened as soon as I got into the car on the way home from the store. I guess I’ll skip buying another bag for our trip!

Hubby has taken a strict approach to what he was eating last week. As a result, he lost 2 lbs. 18 more to go. He didn’t even have milk with dinner, just water. We went to the carnival a few days ago and had a really good time, especailly since the little boys were really having a good time. At one point, we were going to get something to eat from there. It was curly fries, but the price deterred us and he told the boys we could go to McDonalds afterwards. I said or maybe skip it altogether, and he agreed that was a good idea. Instead we got them cotton candy. Of course, I did have a couple bites of that, though.

I’m really looking forward to Tuesday. We’ve made some changes in our plans. Instead of going out to the dry lake bed, we’ll be camping out in a state park instead. It’s safer. It’s has bathrooms! So much for roughing it, huh? This also means we’re not bringing the motorcycles or the fireworks, but there’ll be other times for that, I hope.

Joking aside…. if TOM is approaching, I’ll be needing those showers/bathrooms!

My 15 yr old seems to have a girlfriend…well, they say they are just friends and she has a boyfriend, but these two are together nearly every day, and when they’re not, they’re on Myspace together. All I can say is I don’t look forward to that mother and daughter in law relationship thing and I’m glad there’s (hopefully) another decade before that happens. It’s cute to see David communicating with her, but it was a little disappointing and baby-leaves-the-cradle kind of thing when it first started. She’s cute, too, but it’s annoying how much she eats and yet she’ll probably never have a weight problem. Not that I wish it on anyone by any means… just a little jealous maybe! ;)
