Shifting her considerable girth in her wingback leather chair, legs crossed, pen in mouth she abruptly stopped writing on the small pad of paper. While gazing upwards, she paused in silence to consider what was said by the lovely soft spoken Indian woman reclining on her suede chaise. After a few moments, she replied gently in what sounded like a horrible attempt at a german accent, "Iniya - I see that R was once so meaningful to you that you have brought him into your dream of your town that you remembered so fondly from your childhood. The fact that you envision him residing in a home that has known such tragedy is indicative of your psyche recognizing that he has caused you great pain and the loss is tragic to you on some level. You're conscious mind is dealing with this loss in it's own structured way, but in your dreamscape our imagination is free to put things in a much more primal perspective. You are in the midst of healing and should not minimize the toll this has taken on your heart. You will however recover,' she muttered while now gazing through a crystal ball that has magically appeared on her side table,' allow yourself time to process. Be good to yourself. Soon this will be all over and you will be free to love again.'

p.s. You also have a future in the novel business :)

Iniya, I loved this piece of writing. I love reading, and although I'm no expert, I beileve you have talent to write and what you have to say is meaningful. The opening of this story, this memory, reminded me a little bit of the beginning of "The Life of Pi".
Have a lovely week-end, Iniya. I also thought KC's advise was good.

Your description made it seem very real. I have no guess why you would place R there except maybe you are consigning him to your past??? That would seem like a healthy step, yes??

Love your geography and history lessons!!!

We have an article in our local paper today about a new film from India "Jodhaa Akbar" which will be showing here. A local architect and his wife have been arranging to have Indian films screened here w/ English subtitles. Have you heard of /seen this movie?

Hoping you have a good week-end.

Thanks for the beautiful images, Inya. I could visualize the town, and the rivers with the flowers so vividly. I so want to come to India someday. Sounds like this was a very powerful dream.
