Well this is it. This is a chronicle, of sorts, of my weight loss journey that so far has taken me through both spit and sunshine. I have decided to break my weight loss goal in to 2 parts but the first part is a huge hurdle in and of it self to go from 317 lbs (my highest as of Sept 2012) to 199. That’s 118 right there. From there I hope to get down to 175 or 150 depending on what I feel comfortable with. Today is a sunshine day. I met my first Mini Goal of many lose 10% of my body weight 31.7lbs today I am 285.4. So I am very proud.
Unlike most people I have chosen for the most part to keep my weight loss to myself. My boyfriend knows but for the most part people simply notice that I eating healthier. In the past when I have told people of my weight loss I always get the standard “Oh well that’s water weight” which as always left me discouraged and sadly I never got past the first 10lbs or so. So far it has worked and I am and working towards my goal. Since this is a life style change and not a “diet” I have employed several approaches to make my own which works for me. First, I count calories first and foremost. I figured in order to change my eating habits I had to know what I was eating. I take in about 1200 calories per day but I also calorie cycle (some days I eat 1400 calories so my body doesn’t get use to the 1200 calories). I also use the principles of proper nutrition. Now this one you rarely see because there is no money to be made in it but its simple get in your recommended daily values per day. For example, you are supposed to have 2-3 servings of meat/fish/beans per day and each serving is only 2-3 ounces (yup your supposed to have a max of 9oz of meat per day). 5 servings of fruits and 5 servings of veggies per day. I also apply low sodium intake trying to make sure that I stay under 2000mg but I hope to get it under 1500mg per day. Lastly I am applying Volumetrics (well some parts anyway) to eating but I am still doing some research. It’s all a work in progress.
Anyway… following all of this has gotten me down 30lbs so far. If anyone is reading this I hope you come back for more sunshine and some of the spit
