my new promise December 9, 2008
well, I’ve made a new promise to myself. I haven’t been losing like I normally do. I dont know if its just TOM or because I’ve been “treating” myself too much. probably both. so, I’ve decided not to have any cheats/treats until christmas. I will eat the ‘good stuff’ on christmas but until then it is all clean!! maybe that will speed up my loss. I hoped to be about 220-222lbs by christmas but since i still weigh 228, I dont know if that will happen. So I figured I would tell you all my goal so that I will feel more accountable. Now if I cheat (which I will not) I will have to tell you all with my head held down in shame and my tail between my legs ;) I had a good day today. started out the week on a somewhat normal sleep schedule which is a task every week. then tonight i fell asleep at 10:30 and woke up at 3 am and could not go back to sleep. Things were zooming in and out of my head like crazy!! “how much money do I have left for christmas” , “did DH get his money from that guy” “what size shoes does DS wear?” “did i put the clothes in the dryer?” ect…. I hate that!! so now its 4:30am and I am wide awake! ugh….. but i ate real good monday and did my 4th spin class! I love that class. I feel so good when its over!! I think I might try a step class this week sometime.
B-fruit smoothie with non fat yogurt and honey
L- tiny bowl of bean soup and a salad with spinach, seeds, and light catalina
D- chicken with whole grain noodles in a light sauce with asparagus
S- small bowl of kashi cereal with light soy milk
You eat the way I wish I could eat. You list such yummy, healthy foods. I can really learn from you on this.
Dont worry about not reacing the perfect goal by Christmas , just keep plugging away and you will reach that goal very soon.

Same thing totally happened with me and the sleep. It did not help that I foolishly consumed a hardcore energy drink at 8 p.m.!
6-8 pounds is achievable! Once TOM is over, the weather changes, you poop (LOL, kidding) you’ll see the numbers change.
I stay very consistent, but my weight loss isn’t. It often gets stuck for weeks on end. Matter of fact, in November I lost a paltry 2.6 pounds! This month, 9 days in, I’m down 9.6.
Bodies are very strange things. As is weight loss. It will all even out.
I think you are doing a good thing re-evaluating your plans. I used to have all my “should be” weights and dates planned out, but it would create a lot of pressure and negatives when I was off (which I often was).
Maybe you should be a little more lenient with the holiday period? Is it really possible to have NO treats before x-mas? Only you can answer for yourself - for some people having one or two opens the floodgates, but for others it’s a feeling of constant deprivation that is miserable.

Way to go on the spin classes, so glad you’re enjoying it so much. I checked on yesterday , figured you were catching up on your sleep since there wasn’t a new post. I got one of my books already that you reccommended! Amazon Prime ships fast! Plus I think we have a warehouse right here in Vegas now, so it gets here faster than I could go to the store and get it!
I have to laugh at TOM. You’re the second person who mentioned it and I had never heard of it as a TOM before that’s too funny. I too am feeling wary about my upcoming visit from TOM because it sure seems to be a bad time of month for us in regards to dealing with dieting, exercise, food, and hormones. What a curse. Not only do we have Thanksgiving, Christmas, but we also have two TOMS in there! ROFL
My mind has been reeling lately, too. Surprised to see so many comment on the same thing. I guess it’s that time of year.
