If you’ve been reading my blogs, then I’m sure that you’re very aware that I’m the SB diet’s biggest fan right now. My main victory in September is I finally left the 250s and I’m on the way to 240!!!!! When I hit 247, that marked me losing 30 pounds since May! Woooo hooo!!!! And I’m really happy because it’s finally becoming noticeable. I have a pair of size 13/14 Apple Bottoms jeans that i can fit comfortably now!!! I need to take some pictures of my progress. I should have taken some full body shots from when I was 277; but I have this one from a cruise I went on at the beginning of May where I was around 277.

Here’s one of me, at approximately 262 pounds:

And lastly, me at approximately 252 pounds:

So I am on the right track, I believe! I’m very excited and thrilled about the weight I have lost so far. I’ve still got a good 55 pounds to go, though.

I thought I’d share a few of my favorite meals with the world, since I’ve been on this diet. I’d also like to have a record of what I’ve been eating for my own purposes, because the older I get, the more I forget stuff…lol.

    Main Dishes

  • Buffalo burgers (fiesta style, traditional “American” style - with lettuce, tomato, cheese, and onion, or “hearty” style - with provolone cheese, sauteed mushrooms, peppers, and onions)
  • Chicken cheesesteak saute/philly cheesesteak saute
  • Chicken or beef fajitas in a whole wheat tortilla
  • Bulgogi (korean barbecued beef)
  • Chicken stuffed with asiago and portabella mushrooms
  • Stuffed Bell peppers
  • Steak Diane
  • Blackened Salmon
  • Crab Cakes
  • Grilled chicken (or pretty much grilled anything. If you char it and add a flame, I’ll probably eat it!)
  • Smothered chicken (grilled chicken topped with bacon [turkey, but shh, don't tell, sometimes I use regular low sodium NSA bacon], provolone cheese, onions, bell peppers, mushrooms)
  • Homemade Benihana Hibachi Chicken
  • Taco Bake
  • Red Beans and brown rice
  • Fiesta Chicken (grilled chicken topped with guacamole, cheese, and pico de gallo)
  • Spicy shrimp stir fry

Side Dishes

  • Tomato pizzas (baked sliced tomatoes topped with pesto and mozzarella cheese)
  • Garlicky sauteed spinach
  • Peas/pinto beans/black beans (especially made from scratch or in a crock pot)
  • Steamed brown rice
  • Sauteed zucchini and onions
  • Zucchini and onions from allrecipes
  • sauteed onions, peppers, and mushrooms
  • Southern Style cabbage
  • Pan fried green beans

Snacks and desserts:

  • Pistachios
  • Roasted almonds
  • Almost any roasted nut made in nature (well, not any nut…get your mind out of the gutter)
  • celery with hummus (especially Trader Joe’s 3 layer hummus)
  • Sugar Free jello dark chocolate pudding
  • “Peanut Butter Delight” - natural peanut butter topped with cool whip mixed with cocoa
  • White chocolate raspberry dessert
  • Yogurt
  • Celery with peanut butter. YES. I like this. When I was a kid, I couldn’t stand it. I went to this private school as a kid and they would put raisins on top and call it “ants on a log”. I was like WTF (at the age of 6! LOL)? I DETESTED THEM with all my being as a kid. Now, as an adult, I love celery and peanut butter. Minus the ants. I can do without those.
  • Apple slices with peanut butter. Gotta be granny smith, though.
  • Edy’s Sugar free fruit bars.
  • NSA fudgesicles. OMG…what? Okay, let me explain. For years, I was AGAINST these. I felt like they wanted to be chocolate OH SO BAD, but couldn’t. Well, the Blue Bunny ones have made me a believer. I LOVE THEM.
  • Snap Pea crisps, especially the caesar flavor. Okay, lemme explain. Someone decided that they could make a “potato chip” like snack out of snap peas. These actually taste pretty good! http://www.calbeeamerica.com/snapea.htm
  • Cracker Barrel 2% milk extra sharp cheddar cheese snacks.
  • Baked mozzarella. This is a good substitute for pizza. I know it sounds weird, but don’t knock it until you try it!!!

So now that we have the good down pat, here’s the bad…

Long story short…

I met this guy online. We talked on the phone off and on throughout the first week of our meeting. He seemed like a pretty nice guy and I remember him commenting that “people in Atlanta aren’t very nice” during one of our conversations. I let it slide, but I “filed it away” for a moment like this. Well, seven days later, he and I were supposed to go out on a date. We met at the movies at ten pm. We get tickets ($18 for the both of us), and we go sit down.  A few minutes into the movie, he asks me if I want anything from the concession stand, I reply no. HE DOES NOT RETURN.

The next time I feel like dating online again, JUST SLAP ME. I’m back on strike.  At least I got to see Tropic Thunder. I mean, it’s a MOVIE!!! It requires little (or no) interaction at all. I looked good, I smelled good, I brushed my teeth before I left the house (LOL), so I don’t get it? Well, I sent him an email later calling him a passive aggressive bi***. I know it was very juvenile, but it also made me feel better. And another thing…he said on his profile that he was “medium” built. In the famous words of Martin Lawrence, “Somebody dun tole you wrong”. He was FAT, just like me. I don’t know if his leaving me in the movie theater was based on the fact that he wasn’t physically attracted to me, but he definitely wasn’t a ten. And it’s so unfair, how if I were a guy, I’d be classified as a “football player’s build”, but as a woman, I’m FAT. Ya know, guys are always talking about women lying about their profiles online, but they lie too! I can’t tell you how many guys I’ve met online who have lied about many things - their height, their weight, their job, their marital status, their breeding status, whatever. Not saying that makes or breaks you when it comes to dating me, but at least I DON’T LIE. Shouldn’t I expect the same?

I don’t understand why it’s so hard to meet a genuinely nice guy? Someone once told me that guys felt like they could treat me like crap because I’m overweight. Well, I hope that when I lose a few, there are a guys I can tell which cheek to kiss because they wouldn’t have dated me when I was a big girl. Not to sound bitter or anything, though.

Enough ranting and raving for today. I want to end October on the lower end of the 240s. Size 12, here I come! And I’ve already warned ya’ll of the degree of nakedness that’s coming with those size 12s. Then, my clothing size will match my shoe size!!! LOL!!!!!
