thinking about changing to South Beach…

So I’ve been okay as far as the dieting goes. I’ve done really well with the exercising, but sometimes I struggle on the weekends to not drink too much or eat the wrong thing. I do like the flexibility that weight watchers allows, but I sometimes wonder if that flexibility is going to get me into trouble. Not only that, I’ve lost ten pounds, but after that first ten, the scale just seems stuck. I’m wondering if I should change things up a bit to put my body in a state of shock.

I’ve now been thinking about the South Beach Diet. I have to be honest, when South Beach first became big (i think it was 2005) I thought it was another one of those “gimmicky” diets that promise to do x, y, and z while only eating grapefruit, celery, lettuce, paper with hot sauce, insert whatever random food here. I’ve continued to research it though and it does seem like a viable option. It is supposed to be a good diet for those that struggle with belly fat, insulin resistance, or PCOS (I have the first two and am trying to prevent getting the last one). I think I like the structure of the diet also, and from what I’ve read, it seems to be manageable.

I ordered the book for South Beach today, via amazon.com. I am waiting to hear the good, the bad, and the ugly regarding South Beach from my buddies on 3fatchicks.com. I’ll keep you posted on my choices and my progress. My goal is two lose my next ten pounds by the time I get ready to go on my Cruise and trip to California…
