Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! November 26, 2008
May your turkey plump,
May your potatoes and gravy
Have never a lump.
And your pies take the prize,
And may your Thanksgiving dinner
Stay off your thighs!
Today is my hubbys birthday. Birthdays to us and our family are just like holidays lots of gathering and of course eating.
It all started lastnight with brownies I baked him and the vanilla ice cream I served with them. Today will consist of his birthday lunch at Sticky Fingers ( we love this place) and his birthday dinner at Sakuras ( can you say sushi!) - Who knows if my mom will have him a Carvel ice cream cake which by the way is his favorite.
As you see this day is gonna be a tricky possibly weight gaining day.
On a weight loss/healthy lifestyle stand point.
I have listed a few people and things I am thnakful for that I feel have gotten me to the point of sucess I am at.
So on this Thanksgiving be sure to give thanks in all areas of your life. Enjoy your day, your food and of course your time with your family and friends and may God Bless!
No Fasting Before Thanksgiving Dinner!
Employing a plan to avoid eating too many unhealthy foods on Thanksgiving is a good idea, but there’s one strategy that’s actually a recipe for failure: fasting before the big meal. Total deprivation actually leads to extreme hunger, cravings, and, inevitably, overeating at mealtime — everything that the South Beach Diet principles work to prevent. Fortunately, there are alternative tactics you can use to avoid overeating on Thanksgiving and throughout the year.
You can tell the holidays are coming as it seems my days are gettin crazy and with crazy days means a lack of planning and with lack of planning seems to mean out of whack eating.
After a weekend of birthday dinners, birthday partys and football with out of town guest, family and friends I began to wonder what will I see on Tuesday. I then said to myself “it will be bad cause of my lack of working out due to the foot and calf injury”.
So without further ado
Thanksgiving is around the corner and Christmas isn’t to far behind and dare we forget about the partys of New Years Eve so I came up with a list of tips to help out when it comes to eating whats not so good for us and to help stay on plan.
1. snack (cheese sticks, hard boil eggs etc.) Never go without a snack as it will cause you to overeat/overindulge
2. water water water - be sure to drink lots of it to flush out any of the off plan eats
3. portion control - if you want something off plan be sure to be mindful of your portion size (small scoop is all you need)
4. everything in moderation - have a lil something off plan but not all day off plan
5. exercise - move your body to burn up those extra calories
Hope these tips are some help to you.
Good luck and Happy Holidays!!
Do I really look like this in real life?
This is a pic of me from the Jags game last week - boy do I look different
I guess I still see myself as the “fat” me

Life is in the journey, guys, not the destination, so do what you can and take it one day at a time. Go slow; do it right; make it permanent.
However, along the way when you get the awesome results that come as you work toward your goals, brag about them — I’m being serious! You’re not being smug, you’re proud and so am I!
I am so disappointed in lastnights show.
I am a HUGE fan of this show and have been watching it since day 1.
Lastnights show just really made me mad. I am a BIG fan of Coleen and was so hoping she would go further maybe even a win (theres still a chance) but after lastnight I;m not sure whats goin on.
I thought this show was about being the bigest loser in weight not being the biggest loser as a person. I cannot stand Vicky and her attitude - she should have went home!
If Amy was playing the game to win like she says she is than Vicky should have went home - shes a bigger threat than Coleen. Does Amy not see that she will go the first chance she below with another blue member. Hello!
Still pulling for Coleen to win the at home and as far as BL I would love Michelle or Renee or Amy but no one else.
