Yes today is weigh day and yes I got on the scale this morning even after I had a bad Tuesday with the ice cream and TOM showed on Wednesday and then theres the medicines I have been taking for the sickness and the scale read 201.6 which means I amup 2.8lbs from last week - thanks TOM

Yes today is Friday family nite and the resturant of choice is Mimis which I can easily make a healthy choice.

Yes today I have to go to doc and I have to do blood work and I sure hope all comes back well. I think I am over the fatigue part but now I am battling headaches and sore muscles - no fun.

 

Diet tips January 17, 2008

This was sent to me in an email

A is for asparugus - it’s a natural diuretic, it diminishes bloating.

D is for ditch the diet drink - experst believe diet drink fans tend to eat more cause they they think they are virtuous with their drink

G is for grapefruit - promotes weight loss

O is for one cheat day a week - so you won’t feel deprived

S is for sushi - low cal and vitamin rich

Despite these tips the main secret - don’t skip the gym. If you have to get up at 5am for work then get up at 3am to workout.

At first I wondered if someone was trying to tell me I needed to loose a few and I do but hey I thought it was a cool email to saythe least.

My take on the tips:

I love asparugus so no problem there.

I drink 1-2 coke zeros a day.

Grapefruit is good with splenda and I love grapefruit juice (no sugar added).

Cheat day a week - no I never feel deprived I eat what I want when I want it.

I just love all kinds of sushi.

I could readjust my workout schedule thingy but not until I get to feeling better (per docs orders)

What is my problem?

Someone please tell me what my problem is. I have been eating so well the past 3 days and the majority of yesturday until I had to come home from work running a fever and the fatigue kicking my butt so all I did was eat - eat ice cream & more ice cream so much til I gave mself a stomach ache.

The doc was definetly right when she said depression was a sign/side effect of mono cause I get sooo depressed and then I eat. I want to go back to eating healthy working out and loosing weight.

Good news is I feel a bit better today and I even feel better about getting back on track with my eating.

 

Slow & Steady wins the race January 15, 2008

My doc says why are you in a hurry to loose 50lbs - I don’t have an answer to that. 

My doc says you put this weight on over years so why not take years to get it off and that way it stays off - I have no real comment.

I have been at this new healthy lifestyle for a little over 8 months and I have lost 17lbs total (was 21) as I have gained/lost over & over  the same 6lbs and lost 15 all over inches which is great and I have gotten rid of alot of to big for me clothes and bought some fit me now clothes.

I sometimes get discouraged that my weight is not coming off quick enough - however the thought of quitting never crosses my mind as  quitting is not an option.

When I first started this new lifestyle back in May I set a goal to loose 50lbs by May 2008 but with all I went through with my dad & my aunt & sickness I have decided I don’t need a goal date - I have 33lbs to go and that is so doable, but then my mind starts to wonder is it doable? Guess I better stick with it and see for myself.

 

MONO January 14, 2008

What a horrible feeling. My body aches to the touch, fatigue - yes I am so tired/sluggish til it’s hard to walk a few steps. My eyes feel as though they have not slept in days. I ran a bit of fever yesturday and it went away once I slept a few hours. Sleep seems all my body tells me to do.

It feels as though a bug has bitten me and attacked my entire being.

At least I still have a bit of appetite and a healthier eating one at that.

 

1/13/08 how am i lookin January 13, 2008

Still under doctors orders.

Besides the funeral I went to yesturday all I have done is either lay on the couch & watch HGTV or sleep.

Spoke with my doc on Friday and I go for a test this coming up Friday and  can start working out 3 times a week for 30 minutes starting 1/25/08 and depending on how I feel I can increase it a day each week until I slowly work my way up to how I was doing before I got this sickness.

In the mean time I think I have eaten everything in sight and then some. I get so frustrated - I get so bored. My husband tells me “you don’t want to end up in the hospital do you?” No I don’t I just want to go back to normal - working out eating right and loosing weight. Doc says I probably won’t loose any weight til I start to get this sickness out of my system as my body needs to hold on to every lil bit to survive.

First I want to say Thank You! to all the well wishes. I am getting plenty of couch & HGTV time and my hubby is being a great waiter to me.

 The scale showed this # 198.8 - maybe the doc was right cause I sure have been hangin at this # for the last 4 weeks

So much for that 8 week fitness program I started - gotta start all over again.

 

I have what? January 10, 2008

I had a doctors apt this morning. Doc said my white blood cell count was excesively high - 3 times the norm. I was tol I have Mono & Broncitis and I need lots of rest, take three perscriptions and no physical activity for 2weeks. No exercise for two weeks - that is not good for someone who is trying to reach a weight loss goal. Doc said this could have started with the death of my dad & aunt and slowly gotten worse with all the other worrys of life and could be playing a big part in this weight loss stall I have been suffering.

I’m out of work til Monday and I’ll drop a line or two tomorrow to let you know how my weigh in went.

Everything else is extra January 9, 2008

I’ve read alot of places where if you do your standard 30-45 minute workout a day that everything else you do is like extra credit toward loosing weight at a more steadier faster pace. I wonder how true this is? Sometimes I find myself where I just wanna go go go and then other times it’s all I can do to do my “norm” workout. Extra credit ………

bfast - mexican omelet & coffee

snack - 2 lettuce, turkey & cheese wraps

lunch - tuna salad & coke zero

snack - celry w/npb

dinner - baked fish w/eggplant & onions

snack - jello w/cool whip

water - 12 8oz glasses

workout - 31 min elliptical

I’m a bit disappointed in myself as I couldn’t do my sculpt video lastnight - my neck & shoulders were a bit sore from the wreck. Hubby said I could of had a touch of whipblash. I am feeling much better today. 

Boy am I starving today.  It’s like I can’t get enough to eat - uh oh TOM may be on the way

 

At a glance January 8, 2008

I have completed 7 days of phase 1 and I have been very successful at sticking to it - no slip ups - right on course. I also have been doing my 8 week fitness program now for 1 week and I feel great.

Tonights biggest loser and yes I will be watching it - I can’t wait. There is so much motivation in this show. It motivated my cousin to change some of her eating habits and she has lost 12lbs. My intention is to watch the biggest loser while I walk on my new treadmil I figured I would keep a moderate/fast pace during the show and a slow/slower pace during commercials.

bfast  - mexican omelet & coffee

snak - cheesestick

lunch -  wendys spicy chicken sandwich (no bread) small chili & coke zero - shared a small frosty w/hubby

snak - 2 turkey cheese & lettuce roll ups

dinner - L/O chicken cordon blue & veggies

snak - nsa ice cream

water - 10 8oz glasses of water

workout - 74 minute walk/jog on treadmil

On the down side I was a victim of hit & run this morning on my way to work. The person rearended me and then while trying to leave hit me on the side of my vehicle. Some people.
