Progress!

I’ve made progress and have lost two pounds!  I don’t know how it happened, actually, but I’m not gonna look a gift horse in the mouth.  The important thing is that it’s good motivation for staying on track to reach my goals!

Day 2

eight hours of sleep! an unprecedented record!

this morning I had crew which went allright… first time on an erg for over three weeks, so it was pretty rough… was pretty slow but I’ll improve as I get back into the swing of things.  I’m feeling pretty confident, and I’m excited about achieving my minigoals.

So I got on the scale this morning, and I am one pound away from my heaviest weight ever.  Granted I have slightly more muscle tone than when I was last this weight, but still.  This is not the trend I’m going for.

I need to get myself on track and be realistic.  Right now my actions do not align with my goals.  I want to be thinner and yet I eat outrageous amounts of food each day.  I need to limit my portions to reasonable sizes and make smarter food choices.  I need to realize that it’s okay to pass up on desserts because there will always be desserts.  They’re not going extinct.

I have 15 pounds to go until I reach my realistic goal weight.  When I go home for Christmas break I want to go shopping to update my wardrobe.  However, I am not going to buy anything unless I am at least 147.  I have about 6 weeks to reach this.  Right now I am at 155.  So that’s seven pounds.  This is definitely reasonable.

I’ve started crew practice again so I will be gaining a lot of strength and muscle tone.  I feel as though when I get my life together more it will enable me to make smarter eating choices.  I am making a conscious effort now to stay on top of my schoolwork and to keep my room clean (which is absolutely disgusting right now).  This will help me mentally rejuvenate so I can reach my goals!!!

Minigoals/rewards:

150: sweatpants

148: book

146: spandex shorts

144: spandex shorts

142: new bras, etc

140: wardrobe overhaul!!!

Start

I got new inspiration for my plan for success while browsing through an online dress shop (modcloth).  There were a few really cute dresses so I promised myself them when I reach my goal weight of 140.  Originally my goal weight was 130 but I want to be realistic and I’m tired of always thinking “I need to lose just a bit more weight.”  I’ve been at 140 and I’ve been happy so I’m going to go for it.

I calculated it and at my current weight (151) I can pretty much reach my goal by the time I go home for Christmas break… in one month and one week.  That means losing two pounds a week but I think I can do it.

After this week I’m going to start back up with rowing so I get that good exercise, so then it’s just a matter of staying on track with eating.  These past two days have been pretty good… I’ve strayed a little, especially later in the evening but I’ve been good about getting myself back in the right mindset.

Both today and yesterday I thought “Man I’d really love a poptart” which are fast becoming my weakness.  However, I’ve managed to keep these cravings at bay by thinking about my goals and knowing that a poptart will only make me happy temporarily, whereas reaching my goals is a much more fulfilling high.

So here’s to keeping on track and reaching my goals, hopefully by Christmas break!
