but I’m back….
♦ March 23, 2010
Sorry I have been absent from my blog, but I’m back now. It has been a crazy week, 3 out of my four kids have been sick, as well as my hubby, and as well as me trying to battle my pneumonia. With all that said, I have been about to squeeze in some exercise here and there and given DietToGo a try, and let me tell you my plan to START OUT walking 5 miles went right out of my sneakers and hid somewhere far, far away. I am going to have to work up to that 5 miles, but I have been about to walk for an hour and a half each day, which I can make a bout 2-2.5 miles in that, and let me tell you, I must not walk as much as I think throughout the day because I am WORN OUT and out of breathe walking that track. The first day was the worst, I drove around in my black SUV for about an hour, because the high school kids were out on the track (it is of course, track season) and I didn’t see anybody else walking on the track, so after about an hour I saw a woman, around my size, in a jogging suit and Ipod in hand, so I then decided to go out there too. Now, I get on that track at 4:30 no matter if I am the only one there, besides all the skinny high school kids, or not, and walk at least two miles. I am planning to add half a mile each week or two until I get up to 5 miles. I was soooo nervous that people would stare at me while I was walking on the track, although now I figure they were probably more likely staring at me driving this huge, black SUV that kept driving by the track, slowly, thinking I was a stalker or something!
Next, on to food. Diet To Go has really been awesome! I even left a message, regarding my shellfish allergy I had and needed menu changes for it, and the customer service rep actually called me back! They are very easy to work with and the food in really not bad. I mean, it’s not 5 star quality, but nothing I cook is either, but it is good. The only things I have not liked so far was the rye bread on the turkey sandwhich, was really grainy and had a strong flavor, to much for me. Other than that, I think I have got a plan going now, and I’m going to stick to the 1200 calorie DTG menu, adding a few fruits/veggies for in the middle snacks, walking around the local track (slowly working my way to 5 miles each day), and drinking 64oz of water a day. I have an aversion to plain water, so I have been adding crystal light packets to my smart water and it is fantastic! I really like the peach tea and tropical punch flavors!
I hope you all out there in 3FC world are doing fantastic!!! I’ve got a few english papers to write over the next few weeks, 7 to be exact, not to mention my other college courses, for the semester ends in May and it’s crunch time, but it’s also almost summer time and my kids will be wanting to take those terrifying “vacations” to the water parks and hotel pools and I was to be able to at least not feel so self conscious about being in a swimsuit. I know I won’t be under 200 pounds by that time, but I just hope to gain some self-confidence and not feel so embarrassed in my suit while I’m trying to enjoy my kids having a good time! Thanks for the support everyone, if you have questions or concerns, please, I’d love to hear them!! XOXO

Well today has been disappointing. Remember the whole Bodybugg fiasco?!?!? Well, I got my replacement bodybugg last night and I spent the night charging the new arm band, hoping it would sync up with the digital display, well, to no surprise, but to my great frustration, I am having the same problem I did with the last armband! I can’t even call tech support because they are only open on weekdays. I am just going to send the digital display back and demand a refund. I am going to use the armband and their website though, since I have almost a year’s worth of subscription, you don’t have to have the digital display to log burned calories, the armband works just fine without it, the display is just a nice extra. Oh well, I will just use the armband to log my burned calories from exercise and use their food log to calculate what I’m eating, making sure I am burning more than I consume. Although, if any of you are considering buying a bodybugg, I would advice you think twice, the whole bodybugg experience for me has just been a NIGHTMARE!! The old me would have thrown my hands up and gave up on weight loss all together, but I know now this is just the first wall trying to block the path to my goal!
On a brighter note, DietToGo has turned out to be really awesome!!! The food is good, a lot better than any other mail order or store bought diet I’ve ever tried, and it looks like a chef actually prepared it special for me, which for some reason is a huge plus for me. Also, it is less expensive than the other main-stream mail order diets, which is another plus, and everything is super easy to prepare, just unwrap and microwave or pop in the over. Spring break is over in a few days, so the school track will be open again and I can start my walking, even though we went from having beautiful 65 degree weather to being in the 40’s and expecting snow tonight, again just another wall to try and block my path! So, I look forward to start reporting on hitting some mini goals soon! Hope everyone had a safe spring break and have a great weekend!!

Well today was really exciting! First, we got up early and took the kids to the DFW area, was going to take them to the zoo, but it was JAM PACKED!! So, we went to the park instead, they got to spend time with there grandparents, and I didn’t have to fight crowds to keep them in my view. When we got back to Oklahoma, my two oldest and my youngest went straight to bed. My two year old, Tigger, is a night owl and thinks he is suppose to stay up until midnight every night, and this evening being no different, he was bright eyed and bushy tailed, with the sand man no where in sight, so I sat on the living room floor and played Hot Wheels with him. About an hour into our “monster truck rally,” he informed me he was hungry. Well, being a tiny, southern Oklahoma town, everything here rolls up about 9pm and he was requesting a Pop-tart. Knowing I had my arrival meal thawing in the fridge, and knowing I wouldn’t fully start DTG tonight, I decided to try that meal. So, we popped it in the microwave for 5 minutes (even though the instructions said do it for 2-4 minutes, my microwave is a little finicky, so…) and at the beep we had baked Atlantic salmon, stuffed twice baked potato, whole baby carrots, and a pineapple crisp. To my surprise, it was DELICIOUS!!!! I halved everything with Tigger (my son) and he ate everything, keep in mind this is a child who snubs his nose up at the mention of any sort of fish, so I was shocked he kept asking for more! I was really stoked that it was soooo good, when my husband came into the room (he was taking a bath during our muchie phase) I told him I was really excited because I believe this is a diet that I can stick to!! If the food is all like the meal I had today, this diet will be a cinch!! My Tigger boy is the toughest critic I know, and he said the meal was “good to his tummy” and I think that sums it up perfectly! I hope this helps anyone debating about trying DTG! Check out my new page Menu Item Rating for more details! I hope everyone had a great day and is striving hard to reach your goals!! If I can help anyone or answer questions, please let me know!! Until tomorrow………. Good night everyone!!!

It’s here, it’s here!!! After traveling to two wild animal sanctuaries with the hubby and kiddos, not to mention walking about ten miles total, I came home to find a huge styrofoam container sitting on my ottoman. At first, I was like how the heck did that get in my house? (My 16 year old brother-in-law, who lives next door was nice enough to bring it in for me). My first order of 9 came a day early! Luckily, I had already cleared out a space in my freezer and my ice box to accommodate the weekly order. I came in and separated everything into the breakfast, lunch, and dinner category, and with the help of my husband, wrote down which day was which on each meal. Everything actually looks like REAL food and I can’t wait to get started!! We are traveling again tomorrow, to visit my mother and take the kids to the zoo and the natural history museum, and I am going to start my DTG program on Friday, which was my original plan anyways! The food is really good and this looks like a really easy plan to stay on. Oh, and I ordered the 1200 calorie menu plan, I plan to add a few extra fruits as snacks to add needed calories, and I am really amazed at the portion sizes, now I can see why I have gained soooo much weight while I was prego!! I have been eating double, and sometimes even triple, what I should have. Hopefully, DTG will teach me how to get that under control. I am going to make a new page, posting the weekly foods and I will rate them, just in case anyone is thinking about trying DTG, it really is on the cheaper end of the delivery diets and, so far, it looks good! Well, I am worn out from chasing my little ones around the animal parks, and tomorrow is another day filled with fun and adventure for the kids, so I am off to bed. Blog again tomorrow. Good night all!!

Hello everyone! My name is Lorie and I live in a small town, tiny is more the word for it, in south Oklahoma. I am married to a wonderful man and have 4 beautiful children. I am 25 years old and am in college to be a registered nurse, and then a CRNA. I have gained A TON of weight since giving birth to my kids and having a less than active lifestyle.
I have ordered DietToGo and and waiting for my first order to arrive! I have cleaned out a space in my freezer, and am also going through my fridge and deep freeze (and cabinets) to limit the junk foods, I don’t want to get rid of them all because I may have a revolt of my toddlers on my hands!
I have also ordered the BodyBugg from 24 hour fitness, it arrived at my house this week, but was not working properly. So I had to send it back and am waiting for the new one to arrive this week. I don’t know much about “working out”, and there is no gym in my little town, so I have decided to walk 5 miles everyday, and see how that works to start off with. I am not opposed to getting a personal trainer, but I have to go to the next town to hire one, and they are pricey, so I’m going to try this first.
I’m looking forward to my weight loss journey, and I look forward to meeting a lot of people along the way. If you have any questions for me, please don’t hesitate to ask. I’ll try to blog a few times a week, but I promise to blog at least once a week! I’ll let you know how this DietToGo works once it arrives, and how well the BodyBugg works! Have a great night everyone!!!
Hello world!
