I’m being such a spoiled rotten baby.
I really really don’t want to exercise today. And, I have no good excuses. I have no headache, my stomach is not upset, my workout clothes are clean….my legs aren’t broken! Sheesh….what is my problem? It’s only an hour out of my “oh so busy” day.

I think the mental challenges are the hardest of all. I do think, though, that sometimes we need to let ourselves be lazy and have a break. This is a marathon, not a sprint.

If you don’t feel like doing it, why not just do 30 minutes instead of an hour, that way it won’t seem as bad to you. And then at 30 minutes you can evaluate how you feel…if you want to keep going, it’s only 30 more minutes! If not, then at least you’ve done some exercise.

Totally understand. I have days like that as well. I do think it’s good to take a day off every now and then. Let your body recupe from all the hard work.

Maybe you need to switch up what you do. If you usually do an hour on the treadmill try a stationary bike, or spend 30 minutes on the bike and 30 on the treadmill. If the weather where you live allows you to go outdoors for a walk rather than the gym do that. Dig out that copy of “Sweatin to the Oldies”. Sometimes that helps me get beyond the “I don’t wannas”.
The other thing I found that has helped me a HUGE amount is the time of day I exercise. I used to always say I will get up and exercise in the morning. GUESS WHAT??? I NEVER did!!! I am NOT a morning person!!! I have a better chance of having monkeys flying out my backside than I do of getting up early to have time to exercise.
If you don’t exercise one day…it is not going to sabotage all your efforts. Just tell yourself you will do it tomorrow.
