Day 20; Burn Circuit #3
February 11th, 2010
Hey Readers!
I didn’t work out yesterday because I’m feeling like crud but I managed to get yesterdays workout done today (BC3) and tomorrow instead of my REST day, I will do what was suppose to be todays. Saturday, I will be caught up to where I should be!
My head is killing me. I think I have a head cold? Along with a cough. Made working out interesting. I couldn’t squeeze out the last sumo squats with the calf raises. :(
I’m taking some meds now and hitting the sheets early. Hopefully, I’ll be feeling more energized tomorrow when I’m suppose to do Burn it Off and Recharge. If not I’m going to rest and just do another week of the Burn Phase to be safe!
Sweet Nyquil Dreams!
Day 18; Burn Intervals and Abs
February 9th, 2010
Sheesh! This workout still MURDERS me! I dunno if I’ll ever be able to complete this thing….I almost don’t even feel like it’s getting any easier. This is my 3rd day working out in a row so I’m feeling sore-mainly in my rear end (YAY!) so even the squats were burning more than normal. I got er’ done though and it feels good! :)
Oh my fiance gave me a big hug today and told me that I was looking good. :) I love him! haha. I told him to keep those compliments coming because it really motivates me to keep it up when they come from him.
I did decent on my food today and I’m still working on getting in my 3 liters of water. Hopefully I’ll get there before bed. Food still needs work. I kept it well under my calorie range, I aim for 1500 max and only ate about 1200 today, attempting to make up for the last few days.
**NOTE** SOMETHING is going on with my throat. You know that annoying feeling like you might be getting sick? Kinda scratchy so you feel the need to cough, kinda tender? Yeah, I got that thing going on. WAH! I hope it goes away! I’m going to take some meds tonight and try to beat it before it comes on. I can’t let an illness get in the way of my workouts or school!
Well, I gotta go study for my Psyc test tomorrow. Thanks for reading! ![]()
Day 17; Burn Circuit 2
February 8th, 2010
My FAV!!! haha :)
I love this workout. I always feel so strong after I’ve finished it! (well, at least after my arms and legs stop shaking!)
I’m on my 3rd week now and I’m starting to fear doing my measurements and weighing in. Overall I feel like I’m getting tighter/stronger (not really too much leaner though). My clothes for the most part feel the same. Maybe slightly looser on a good day BUT I know my eating isn’t what it should be. I don’t go too crazy or anything but I know I’m not meeting certain health guidelines, like my fruits, veggies, fiber, protein etc.
Like today, I had Wendy’s for lunch. Their spicy chicken nuggets, small fry and med light lemonade. WHY?! Now, I’m not eating dinner because of it. Granted, I’m not feeling too hungry and I will eat a small snack like some vanilla greek yogurt and sliced strawberries. I just HATE cooking every night. I’m always burnt out with work or have a lot of school work to do so I go for something fast. My fiance can only eat fish, chicken and ground turkey so I think I’ve gotten burnt out on the same recipes.
I know these aren’t excuses but I just wanted to list this here and maybe motivate me to eat cleaner foods. I’d also like to start increasing my protein to get ready for the Push phase. I’m starting tomorrow! Wish me luck and any recipes, snack ideas you may have a greatly appreciated!
Day 16; Burn Circuit #1
February 7th, 2010
I took Day 14 and 15 as REST days. Yesterday wasn’t planned but I had a lot of errands I had to do plus school work. It just worked out that way so today I had to do yesterdays workout instead of RESTing today.
Worked up a great sweat today while everyone else went to a Super Bowl party-I don’t really care for football and actually enjoy any opportunity I can get to be home alone so here I am! Workout complete, next I have to go grocery shopping, maybe some cleaning and getting ahead on my homework for next week! :)
I also took the time to write down the names of all the workouts for each Burn Circuit so I also want to make my spreadsheets later so I can really tract the amount of weights I’m using.
I hope everyone is having a good weekend!
Day 13; Burn it Off & Recharge!
February 4th, 2010
Tonight was another difficult but exhilarating cardio routine! I like this once much better than Burn Intervals but it might be because it’s shorter? haha. Still a very good workout that you can make more intense if you really push your limits. I actually remembered my HR monitor tonight and with BIO I burned 290 calories! Not too shabby!
Recharge. Hmmm, what can I say? I still don’t love this workout but it was a little more “fun” than the first time I did it. It brought my calories burned to 410 calories total so it was definitely worth it! :)
Well, tomorrow is a “REST” day and marks my first 2 weeks of the program! I can honestly say that this is the longest I’ve stuck with something like this and I’m feeling very accomplished already and motivated to see it through!
Thanks for reading! Now go push PLAY!
Day 12; Burn Circuit #3
February 4th, 2010
Sorry for once again on being behind on my updates! School has been very demanding this week as far as deadlines go.
So last night, (FEB 3rd) I completed Burn Circuit #3. I felt great and kept trying to adjust to higher weights. I’m hoping to take some time this weekend to make a spreadsheet of the workouts so I can track my weights easier….I know there is one in the book BB gave me but I think the spread sheets will be easier to jot down while I’m working out. Once I get them down I’ll post a link and share em’ if you’re interested!
Day 11; Burn Intervals and Abs
February 3rd, 2010
Sorry I forgot to post this last night! (Day 11 was actually on Feb 2, 2010)
I hate this workout. lol. Its SO hard and I have to take like 5 breaks to catch my breath during the cardio intervals. Sumo burpees, jump lunges, and a few others I forget KILL me! :) It’s all good though because I know I’ll be able to do it all eventually if I keep at it! I’m thankful I get to use low weights during this workout. The only section I stuggle with is the tricep extensions because you’re doing them for sooooo long and I’m failing before the end with only 5lbs on each arm. I even only used 1 of the weights when you are suppose to combine them. WOWee Charlene is a hard ass! ;) I think I really need to add some more cardio in to help get my endurance up so I’m going to pull out my Turbo Jam DVDs by Charlene as well….I never did them regulary so I’ll have to start with the Learn in Burn DVD to get use to the movements before I can do any of the other workouts.
So, I’m feeling quite sore in my lower body today and I think it’s Burn Circuit 2 catching up with me. My whole bottom is sore which is a great feeling! I hope its burning the fat off! My arms are looking and feeling rather toned if I do say so myself. I feel like I’m able to sit and stand up straighter because my lower back is getting stronger. (I have very poor posture!) I’m still wearing all the same size clothes and not really noticing any looseness in them but I feel stronger and leaner overall. Can’t wait to see what happens in the next few weeks of Burn and compare my starting point measurements!
Well, tonight is Day 12 and is Burn Circuit 3 so I’ll post again after my workout.
Day 10; Burn Circuit 2
February 1st, 2010
Ok, so I felt REALLY good today! Burn Circuit 2 is my favorite of the 3 Circuits because there is a lot of lower body work. I LOVE deadlifts! Today I really pushed myself and used mostly 15lbs for all the lower body work. For biceps, I stuck to 10lbs. I also attempted to use 10lbs for the tricep extensions but could only do about 6 reps until I had to lower them to 5lbs. I really need to pick up some 8lb-ers.
Overall I felt really good and really tried to follow Charlene’s advice about visualizing my targeted muscles working and it seemed to help. As always, I make sure my chest is up, shoulders back but I know I need to check my abs more often and be sure that I’m holding those in along with breathing with the exercises.
I’m going to keep tonights entry quick because I’m swamped with homework and have a big exam tomorrow early in the AM! Because of this, I AGAIN, forgot to wear my HR monitor so I’m sorry I don’t have a report on how many calories I burned. :( I’ll try to be better about that!
Good Night!
Day 8; Burn Circuit 1 +++
January 30th, 2010
Well, yesterday was my Rest Day although I ran A LOT of errands so I did do some walking at least. :)
Tonight I did the Burn Circuit 1 and managed to use 10-15lbs on my lower body, Chest and Bench exercises. My shoulders were still at the 5lbs. I hope I can get them up to the 10lb mark before I hit the Push Phase, if not higher!
I really wish I would have got the Power Blocks that go up in 2.5lb increments. I do have some 8lb dumbbells from my Firm days but having some 12’s would be nice too. I may need to pick some up eventually.
Anyways, after I finish BC1, I added in my 20 min Windsor Pilates DVD, stopped it when it got to the Leg series and popped in the 21min long Buns, Hips, and Thighs one to really target my lower half. I went to the mall today to find a new pair of jeans and the lighting in those dressing rooms REALLY now how to highlight my trouble areas! My legs and backside looked like cottage cheese. EW! EW! EW! Talk about motivation! I CAN NOT go to Hawaii or get into a swim suit looking like that!
I forgot to wear my HR monitor tonight but I’m guessing I burned close to 400 calories altogether based off my past workouts. Eating was fairly good, I did eat a pretzel at the mall (before the mirror incident!) but still managed to stay within my calorie range BUT it did make me miss some important health guidelines.
Ok, well I’m off to study some more, wrap my son’s gifts and get ready for his party tomorrow! Take Care!
Day 6; Burn it Off and Recharge
January 28th, 2010
Wow, I can’t believe it’s already my 6th day of the program….tomorrow is a rest day so I’m feeling very proud of myself for sticking to it all week long. My eating has been really good too, always keeping it between 1200-1500 calories all week.
Tonights workout, Burn it Off, was only about 25+ minutes long but it utilized those minutes! I found myself panting, out of breathe probably at least 3 times during that workout. Only a few of the exercises used light weights and the rest was plyometrics and some football drills.
The Recharge DVD was for flexibility. It had some yoga poses and lots of stretches and was also about 20-25 minutes long. I honestly don’t really care for this type of stuff but I will do it when it is in the rotation however I personally prefer pilates for a light, flexibility, core workout.
I’m debating on taking my weight this week….I don’t want to get discouraged if its up so I need to think about it for a few days….
Tomorrow is dedicated to my school work so I’ll be back on Saturday to report the beginning of my second week of the Burn Phase!
