Another change in waist. :)
So, I’ve been enjoying keeping up with my waist measurement — which hadn’t budged in MONTHS — and today I weighed in at 185 (which is what I weighed on my Sunday “unofficial preview”) and decided to check my waist, b/c my clothes have been fitting loosely lately.
Yup. I now have 33.5″ waist (down from 40″ a little over a year ago). I also have the smallest abs and hips measurements I’ve had in YEARS (42″ and 43″, respectively). Bust, 42.5″. I’m just really excited about this.
Showed my wedding pics to a new friend last night over dinner and she said, “Wow! You’ve lost a lot of weight!” I beamed as much as I was beaming in my wedding pics and said, “Yup. 55 pounds so far!”
It’s all just so dang cool.
I’m flying without a net, basically. No more Bistro MD. Not *daily* doing Jillian Michaels’ 2009 Fitness Ultimatum or Wii Fit (just “when I can get to it,” which is still a few times a week). Doing great calorie counting (while choosing high protein, good carb, low glycemic index foods) and loads of walking everywhere I can. I am so grateful that Bistro MD taught me so many good habits. I really did learn a lot and I’m applying it to my daily choices now and clearly it’s working.
I do miss my message board friends from the 3FC Bistro MD Buddies thread. I feel weird checking in there, since I haven’t had a Bistro meal in a couple of weeks now. (I do still have another dozen or so meals in the freezer for when I need ‘em, but without “doing the program,” it just feels weird posting on “their” thread now.) But I hope they know I’m still thinking about them, wishing them well, and keeping up with their progress via the emailed updates of the thread each day.
This has been an amazing 13.5 months. I’m going to reach my goal by summer and I couldn’t be happier! I hope everyone is feeling happy and healthy and gratified by making better choices every day. That’s all success is, after all: Making better choices consistently over time.
Yay!

Yee-Haw girl!! You are doing great, and NO TRAINING WHEELS!!! Keep it up. We’re all so proud of you, and yes, you’re still part of the Bistro gang, whether you’re doing it now or not. You’re our poster child success story…and the first one to leave the nest
-Kathy
You are doing great! So do you travel all the time? I find that really tough, My food is extra protein, good carb, almost no wheat - similar - and right now I’m not on any plan, just winging it. Just wanted to say, boy, can I identify and I do encourage you to check in here until you get used to it (liking it?) as it sure does help. So how is it going now? Delita
Thank you, Kathy!
It’s really exciting. I’m down to a size 16 (from a 22/24) and had to buy new clothes yesterday. AGAIN! I’m so happy. I do miss you fine ladies, thought. Please share my hugs with all!!!!
I don’t travel much, Delita. That’s Noodlebean. She travels a LOT. Oh, and there’s no question about my being “used to” or “liking” eating gluten-free. Been doing that for over four years now.
If you meant getting “used to” or “liking” BistroMD, I did that for nearly a year and loved it. Most wonderful.
My calorie counting has been working great, since leaving BistroMD.
Keeping me really accountable. And doing that without being manic or rigid about it has been a joy. I credit BistroMD for having taught me how to be flexible within a program. That means I can now be flexible “on my own” but still be working a “program.”
NO complaints here!
Very happy!
