Week 24 Measurements

Another non-posted weigh-in, simply because I’m premenstrual and it’s just a hair above last week’s non-posted weigh-in, which was the same as the prior week’s weigh-in. (Got all that?) So, if all goes according to the graph I’ve now plotted showing overall weightloss since starting BistroMD over five months ago, I should have a very nice weigh-in result to share next week. :D

Stay tuned!

Meanwhile, when the scale is not happy, GO TO THE TAPE!

That’s right! Measurements! Just like last week, I’m showing some really good results since getting on the Wii Fit every day.

Bust: down 1″ since last week

Waist: down .5″ since last week (that’s down 1.5″ in just 16 days of daily Wii Fit action)

Knee: down .5″ since last week

All others, no change since last week.

BUT…

I looked at my measurements from when I started BistroMD in February and I am down as follows:

Upper arm: .25″

Wrist: .5″

Bust: 3″

Under bust: 3″

Waist: 4.5″

Abs: 4.5″

Hips: 3″

Upper thigh: 1″

Knee: .5″

Calf: .5″

Ankle: .5″

Do you SEE that? I’m SHRINKING!! Yay!

  1. Good going girl!!! Glad to see those inches just melting away. I’m glad to see those results for a selfish reason as well. Just changed over to BistroMD…first batch coming next week. I’m going to give it a whirl for a full 6 week cycle, to see if the taste and results are worth dealing with the bags (and having to remember to pull something out to thaw). I’ll have to microwave it at work, so hope that doesn’t degrade the quality too much.

I still can’t get over how neat the Wii Fit is. I’m REALLY bad about eating a late dinner (8-9), so an hour after I eat, I get on the Wii for awhile to try to kick my metabolism up. Seems to be helping, but too soon to tell for sure. I’ve tried aerobics a few times in my life, only to remember why I hated so much the times I tried it before. But I’m stepping my butt off (hopefully literally ;) ) on this thing. For some reason, it’s actually fun.

  2. 1. Thank you, Kathy! :D I’m happy too!

    2. Congrats on getting started on BistroMD. Can’t wait to hear how you like it and how it’s working for you. Also, to live a little vicariously, since you’ll get to eat all of the selections (I’m guessing you have no food allergies). ;)

    3. Why will you be thawing your meals before you microwave them? Whenever I’ve microwaved my BistroMD meals instead of boiling (when I’m on a trip or crunched for time), I just go straight from freezer to plate to microwave (snipping a corner before microwaving, of course), and then dump the goodies out on the plate after the nuke-job. No? Is there a reason you’re planning to thaw them first?

    4. I’m ridiculously addicted to my Wii Fit. Can’t stop. LOVE IT. And I’m doing so much step class and rhythmic boxing that I KNOW it’s doing some good (heck, clearly it is–by looking at those measurements you can tell) and I LOVE the feeling of getting so much good air into my lungs. It’s awesome!

Glad to have you along for the journey! Thanks for the update and GOOD LUCK to you!! :D Hope you lose faster than I do!!! It takes forever, for me, but I’m having fun, so that’s okay. ;)

    Cheers

  3. Oh wow . Didn’t even think of nuking frozen…duh ;o That’s going to make life easier. Does the ‘free shipping 08′ promo code apply to all orders, or just your first one (i.e. are you using it?). Yeah, I’m looking forward to it. I’ve still got a bunch (over 70lbs) to lose (down 33) so I’m hoping to keep up the ~2lb/wk rate I’ve seen with ‘fresh’ food delivery.

Don’t fret about the scales…you’re doing great….look at those measurements! I agree about the fun part. Who’d have thunk it! Between the Christmas present aspect of getting new food every week and the Wii, its put a whole new perspective on the ‘diet’ thing for me. It’s gonna be awhile before my Mii can strut her stuff as merely being overweight. I’m expecting to be invited to the party when yours gets normal :)

  4. I didn’t know about the Free Shipping ‘08 promo, so I’m guessing it’s an incentive for new members. I received 50% off week five and 50% off again on week 12, but those are the only incentives I’ve received. :\

I’m so proud of you, being down 33 pounds! Even though I’m only officially tracking the weight I’ve lost on BistroMD (20 pounds so far), I actually lost another 15 pounds before that “on my own.” (Basically, I stopped eating fast food and JUNK after Christmas, and that helped a great deal.)

I’m THRILLED that you’ve been losing two pounds per week!!!! That’s awesome! I wish I could lose that fast, but it just seems to be really tough to align myself with doing that. I’ll keep at it, though. No matter what, I’m headed in the right direction… and if I think of how long it took for me to put the weight ON in the first place, this is a very good pace for then “maintaining” — at least I had no trouble maintaining the HIGHER weight, after having gained a pound a week for a year, back a few years ago. LOL ;)

This IS fun! You’re right about the the “present” aspect of unpacking the food each week. I’d probably feel even more like that if there were surprises inside. I get the same exact thing each week, and I’m actually surprised I’ve stuck with it as well as I have!!!

My Mii is having fun and definitely starting to strut. ;) And so am I, in real life. ;) That feels really good.

Believe me, there will be a party–and you absolutely will be invited–right here when my Mii tells me I’m “normal.” ;) There will also be a major celebration when I hit my next goal, which should happen in August. :D Yay!

    Be well!

  5. [...] I also took some measurements this week. As Grace says, when the scale is not happy, go to the tape! Or at least that’s what I thought. I [...]

  6. Grace… did my blog automatically ping you?? What the heck is that?! Sorry. Sometimes that happens within my blog when I link to my own other posts in a new posts, but somehow it jumped over here, I guess because I linked to you! Weird.

  7. No worries, NB. I’ve been thinking about you. Wanted to offer some {{{hugs}}} for your recent post and also recommend what it appears Kathy has recommended too: that you consider BistroMD.

I mean, I know you would prefer to avoid frozen food and the prep work is a little more than with the other programs, but it sure would take care of your vegetable issue, since all of the BistroMD veggies are fresh when they’re frozen and they boil-in-bag or microwave up PERFECTLY. I’ve had NO issues finishing my veggies!! :D Just a thought, since you’re having to toss so much. (I’m like you. If I think anything is *close* to bad, I toss it. I won’t drink milk within days of its expiration. I’m very careful about that stuff.)

Anyway, please know I’m thinking of you and wishing you well. Having a tough week myself but staying the course. Hope you are too.

    XO
