Another Wii Fit Post
So, I love my Wii Fit. Love it.
And now my husband’s getting into it. And he’s competitive. And he’s a BIG FAT CHEATER!!!!!!!!!!!

Instead of keeping his center of balance during the yoga’s “deep breathing,” he’ll hold his breath so he can stay perfectly still and earn a perfect score.

Instead of lifting his feet up and actually running during the aerobic “running,” he’ll just bounce up and down because the Wii remote will register the same amount of motion as if he’d picked up his feet.

Today I noticed that he was adding in “activities” in his “activity log” on days when he hasn’t left his chair outside of the time he put in on Wii Fit. He’ll say he’s been playing tennis or bowling… when the only place he’s been playing tennis or bowling is ON THE WII!!!!!!!!!!!

Now.
I know better than to care.

I know better than to compare.

I know that his journey is his journey and my journey is mine.

I know that whatever it is he chooses to do has no impact whatsoever on my path.

I KNOW all of this.
But I still want to bitch about him not doing it “right.” Why? Do I need things to be “fair” here? Pff. Who cares?!? He can cut out sodas and cut back on pizza and drop ten pounds this week. I KNOW we’re not living on a “fair” or level playing field, as weightloss and fitness goes.

*sigh*
Guess I just wanted to complain… somewhere.
My husband is a Wii Fit CHEATER!
I, on the other hand, am perfect and wonderful and working my butt off and having good progress. So there.

(I am such a brat.)
Hee!
LOL
Oh my goodness you are so funny. You just made me laugh so hard my kidsa re looking at me like I am nuts. LOL

Joy
ps Go into his thing when he is not there and mess with all of his scores. LOL
Thanks, Joy.
You have made a GREAT suggestion! I totally should go in there and tweak his BMI and stuff too.
Heeeeee!
Nah. I’ll let him have his LIAR journey.
Hee! I’m trying to be okay with it. Being able to vent here helps.
Glad you enjoyed the post. I’m trying to laugh too! Hee!
Grace
well, he’s only cheating himself…. XD
Don’t I know it, Laura!
Right on.
OK, I just had to send an comment to you from my Wii, just cause it’s so cool that I can! Just put the browser on it tonite.
Kathy!!! How do you DO that???????? I’m so impressed at your tech-y-ness! LOL
Yep, just goes to show that you can still be a geek at 55 LOL. I’m an electrical engineer, and we were talking yesterday at work about the Wii being the iPhone of the gaming consoles…it may not be the strongest in specific areas (screen resolution, etc) but it’s overall concept, design and user interface puts it on a whole different level from the others. I don’t know why they don’t market the internet capability harder, cause I think it’s a great feature. You can buy a browser for it (click on the Wii store from the main menu) for 500 points (i.e. $5). Since the Wii is already tied into my wireless router, I can now browse the internet on my TV. Although the user interface isn’t as graceful as a PC (you use a point and click virtual keypad), they did a really good job with it. You can do all the basic stuff (search, favorites, etc), including zooming in and out on a webpage. Definitely worth the 5 bucks.
Wow! I’m sold!!
Thanks for the explanation. Sounds very cool!
I wish there were a way to take my Mii with me when I play at a friend’s house. We had to create a Mii for me there and it would be so much cooler if we could transport/access our Mii stats when playing elsewhere (also, maintain our stats without having to add an hour at a friend’s house as non-descript “activity” in the log).
Maybe that’s to come!!
I did two hours on Wii yesterday. I’m just so in love with how very different each workout can be!
