Son of a…

So. Week 6 showed up and we’re back to the problems. After a 100% correct and gluten-free delivery for Week 5, we have a Week 6 with missing items, gluten-containing items, and DO NOT EVER SEND-status items being sent despite my requests (yes, plural).
I fired off an angry email (first time I’ve gotten angry with them — but after this many weeks with “wrong stuff” and finally having come up with a document that we ALL agreed, if they’d just follow, would be perfect for me, I was just OVER it) and told them I was considering switching over to the PureFoods Gluten-Free Program because I was just getting so damn tired of having to micromanage BistroMD and request credits, go buy food to supplement deliveries they got wrong, and still have wrong stuff coming.
Not sure I’m ready to pull the trigger on that one just yet, but I’m getting close. Definitely not loving how much work *I* am having to put into this, STILL. Didn’t mind putting in the work at the beginning to help them GET IT RIGHT and create a gluten-free menu that would hopefully help them with all future gluten-free clients. But to have gotten it right AND have to keep working this hard? Ridiculous.
*sigh*
The good news is, BistroMD does work. I’m down nearly ten pounds in just under five weeks, and that’s without having added any “real” exercise to my routine. I’ll take it. ![]()

Ugh, sorry you are STILL having problems with this issue!
Maybe it’s worth it to try another plan for a bit just to give yourself a break. Does BistroMD auto-renew?
Good luck whatever you decide!!
Well, not “still,” but “again.” They did get me a 100% correct and perfect Week 5, remember?
I’m not looking to make a switch just yet, as I love the BistroMD food, love the people, have worked really hard with them to get this right (and, like I mentioned in my post, am only NOW for the first time actually pissed off with them), and the weight is coming off (nine pounds in just under five weeks with no added exercise), so it works.
But yes, I am opening my mind to trying other things, as I mentioned (and linked to), specifically, the PurFoods Gluten-Free plan. But, because of the PurFoods’ affiliation with 3HD (all of their website’s images are hosted at the 3HD root directory) and all of the nightmares people have been having with diet plans going through website restructuring, ownership changes, and total lack of customer service, I’m sticking with “the devil I know” for now, y’know?
I mean, I certainly don’t want to leave a program that:
1. works
2. is 95% correct and 100% on top of issuing credits for the times it’s not correct
3. I enjoy
for one that:
1. may or may not work for me
2. may or may not be correct or on top of credits when it’s not correct
3. I might not even like
Why take that big a risk, just for the sake of making a change?
Like I said, I’m only just now at the “angry” stage and I did ask for a credit NOT just for the foods they sent with gluten and the ones they missed altogether, but also for the ones I had asked them NOT to send that they sent anyway. We’ll see when my CSR gets in on Monday how they’re going to handle this.
My 3/28/08 order is already bought and paid for, so I’ll let it arrive (which means I’ll–by then–be committed to BistroMD through the 4/4/08 delivery, and therefore that’s through 4/11/08 for having their meals in house to finish up), and if the 3/28/08 order shows up with problems, I’ll look more seriously into moving over to the PurFoods Gluten-Free plan.
Like I said, not ready to pull the trigger on this yet, as I’ve read so many NIGHTMARE accounts of dieters’ experiences with other programs that I’m more than happy to employ a little extra patience, rather than have to deal with a whole new set of problems with other companies. Especially considering that I bring my OWN set of “issues” to any program I choose, because of all of the “special needs” of a gluten-free diet, I don’t need to go to companies that are already screwing over their customers who DON’T need even the gluten-free hand-holding that I require.
The whole point in choosing home delivery was to have very little WORK involved. If we’re really at the end of my WORK on BistroMD (which is a question that will be answered come Monday, when they explain why they ignored the plan we had come up with back on March 10th), I’m happy to stick with it. If I’m going to have to continue to stay on top of them in order to get my order right, and continue to ask for credits for their mess-ups, then yes, I’ll look elsewhere.
We’re not there yet.
Thanks for the comment!
