Week 4 delivery…
…not good. They left out one breakfast, sent three that are made with wheat flour, left out all seven breakfast drinks, and two of the dinners are made with wheat flour. Dammit! That’s 13 strikes this week. And Week 3 was sooooo close to 100% (only two meals with gluten). We really thought Week 4 would be the “we’re in the groove” celebration delivery.
Hardly.
The good news is, they’re great with issuing credits for their mistakes, but it is getting a little exhausting having to stay on top of them like this.
That said, I understand this is standard for every food delivery service… lots of micromanaging required. Still.
*sigh*

Oh no! I’m sorry to hear that this got messed up. That totally sucks. It is good that they are so prompt and courteous about fixing their errors, but it would be a lot better if they didn’t mess up in the first place. How long are you committed to BistroMD? Have you thought about trying the Pure Foods gluten-free plan? I was checking that one out today and I recognized a lot of the names of entrees from Deliciously Yours (I mean, yummy things that I like and would recomment). However I also noticed that it’s a pretty expensive plan, relatively speaking. (Possibly not expensive compared to BistroMD — I’m not familiar with that plan and don’t know their pricing.)
Anyway, hang in there, lady!

ps - I linked to you on my blogroll @ http://thinbymail.wordpress.com/ — hope that’s okay.
Thanks, Noodle Bean (and welcome home! Missed you on the message boards).
Yes, it’s totally fine for you to link to me. I’ll add you to my blogroll as well (although the 3FC templates have some constraints). I love that you’re getting to try so many different plans while you figure out what works–and in front of us all. Very helpful!!
It does suck that they messed stuff up, but they are SO quick and responsive about fixing things (and what I’m gathering from everything I’ve read is that ALL of these companies have mixups and the real service comes from how quickly they’ll fix ‘em). I’m definitely growing tired of the need for credits to my bill each week, but they keep dolin’ ‘em out to make things right and I know that the gluten-free issue really is a challenge. No one really understands it 100% so it becomes tough to expect them to get it right every time.
I’ve definitely thought about trying the Pure Foods gluten-free plan. I actually responded to a post about it at the 3FC message board. I had reached out to them at the same time I reached out to BistroMD and *never* heard back (beyond the automated reply) from my email.
So, I was ready to make a choice and I did. I haven’t looked at the Pure Foods’ website since I chose BistroMD mainly b/c I don’t want to think I made the wrong choice or worry that I should’ve done X, Y, or Z. But, yeah, if the problems continue, I may look into making a switch here in a couple of weeks. I definitely wanted to hit Week 5 with BistroMD b/c they give you that week for half off. So, that’s the delivery that will arrive on 3/14/08.
When I did the math on each of the programs, it looked like BistroMD was definitely the priciest ($194 per week, includes shipping and seven days’ meals plus snacks) but I’m in a unique position to afford it for the next few weeks, which is why I charged in so committed to this. Anyway, depending on how successful my next BistroMD delivery is, I may check out the Pure Foods’ gluten-free plan before too long.
Goodness, this is a long comment, isn’t it?
Thanks for commenting and, again, welcome home! Looking forward to reading more of your great reports!
