Weight: 162.8
I can only guess that I have been seriously over-estimating my caloric intake prior to yesterday. My body was in starvation mode of some kind. I ATE yesterday. Not “bad” things. But I had scrambled eggs with a slice of pepper jack cheese and 4 strips of turkey bacon for breakfast. Half a cantaloupe for a snack. Lunch was a tilapia filet (wrapped in foil and broiled in the oven, with just a spray of Pam to keep it from sticking and sprinkled with garlic, salt and pepper.) A bag of frozen veggies that I steamed. Dinner ended up being quinoa pasta with ground turkey and spaghetti sauce. Not a huge bowl, but definitely more than a cup! Oh, and I small box of Junior mints that I shared with the kids…. ok ok, i gave Skye ONE! Hey, it was a really small box!!! That is more food in one day than I think I’ve eaten in a week. And yet I had a major weight drop? So, I guess I need to be eating more. Still good stuff. Just more of it. And I should probably cut back on the fruit. I’m eating a LOT and even though it’s “natural” sugar, I think I’m still getting way too much. So I’m keeping it to one serving of fruit a day and upping the veggies instead. Still lots of lean protein. But I’m going to allow two servings of a grain a day, be it rice or gluten-free pasta or bread… something like that.
And I think the real key… is the Junior Mints! Definitely! I had a small box today. Just to be sure!
I was supposed to run 5 miles today, but that didn’t work out so well (poor planning and memory!) You can read more about that HERE.
My calves are REALLY hurting these days. There’s cramping and I think I’m not getting enough stretching in. So I’m going to start using that Yoga mat and DVD my son got me for Christmas before I go out on my runs from now on.
Today I had four slices of lean turkey bacon for breakfast. I had brought left over turkey chili to work for lunch… but I ended up eating it around 10! I was hungry! So I went to the store and got sushi for lunch. Cause hello, it’s DELISH!! And then a few bites of smoked salmon in the afternoon. I’m going to have a small roasted acorn squash for dinner. And probably some ground turkey with it. Oh and I had junior mints for a snack earlier… did I mention that already? I do love me some junior mints!!
And this has nothing to do with anything other than I love him even more than junior mints. I scored free tickets to a sneak peek of the new Brendan Fraser/Harrison Ford movie Extraordinary Measures for next Monday!!!! It doesn’t open until the 22nd and I am so like over the moon about this!!!! YAY!! Expect to hear about this a LOT! You’ve been warned!

We have coyotes in our neighborhood park. I don’t walk in there, too wooded to go into alone. Hey, at least you STARTED your run. That is a good thing! Looking forward to the Brendan updates!
I TOLD you so, re starvation mode!
Isn’t it awesome when eating more results in a drop??
If you’re still cramping a lot maybe replace your 1 serving of fruit w/a banana. The potassium helps w/cramping. I remember when my brothers were in football that the coach had them all eat one every day to help ward off cramping and the flu, double whammy!
lol- I’ll agree the key is the thin mints
Mmmm sushi sounds SOOO GOOOD right now *faint*
I believe my son is doing something similar. Best of luck to you.
