Weight: 163.8 (really??? Seriously??? Whatever!)
I had a grilled chicken southwestern salad from Jack in the Box for lunch yesterday. And some dried fruit. That was it. IT!! I didn’t have diet coke OR junior mints at the movies, I brought my water (”It’s Complicated” - hilarious!! Just the perfect comedy, really!) And that’s what I get after a 9 mile run… NOTHING?!
TOM’s here - so I’ll blame that. Definitely TOM’s fault!
I got up and did 42 minutes on the elliptical. Made brown rice (with chicken broth instead of water), sauteed an onion in abt a tbsp of extra virgin olive oil and steamed a bag of mixed veggies. Threw it all together and presto! Lunch is ready! Look how all prepared and on top of things I am!
Looks like I’m going to get to escape from work just after lunch today! Excellent!! I have grocery shopping and a ton of laundry to do before the kids go back to school tomorrow. Much as I’ve loved the holiday break, I’m ready for our regular routine to kick back into gear!!
So far today, I’ve had clementines for breakfast and the aforementioned rice dish for lunch. Dinner is going to be oven roasted squash for me. I’m making turkey chili for the kids, but that will be my lunch tomorrow. And I think tomorrow night I’m finally going to cook that spaghetti squash I’ve had kicking around forever. I’ve never cooked one before and I’m sort of excited to find out what happens! Can it really be used in place of spaghetti noodles? (every recipe and cooking show I’ve seen on it says Yes! Alton Brown wouldn’t lie to me, right?!)

I love spaghetti squash. Although, I must say, I tend to add way too much parmesan to it. I just cook it in the microwave. Let me know how you like it!
Congrats on the 9 mile run! Awesome! It’s hard to explain to people that after you get to the point where you can run 3 or 4 miles, you know you could just keep going! I run too, but have been off for several months (injury, laziness, life.) But its been years since I ran more than 3 miles. You will kick that half-marathons butt!
I would blame TOM too. I hate TOM.
I agree must be TOM- eating out is just detrimental to weight loss (darn sodium). I mean seriously how much salt do they add to stuff?!
Now, I’m not into running at all, but I bet some muscle reaction (in addition to TOM) is causing the fluid retention. No way you run 9 miles, eat that little and not see some kind of loss, otherwise.
