A.M. weigh-in: 151.4
Before I get into my post, I’d like to mention that I saw The Soloist last night. It was seriously amazing. You can read my full review on my movie review website: Cinemarific.
So I realized this morning that exactly 7 weeks from tomorrow, the boys and I are leaving on our next rafting/kayaking trip. This one’s a two dayer up in Oregon, on the Clackamus river and it’ll be class 3 & 4 rapids. I am totally stoked. I used to go rafting on this river with my uncle and cousins when I was a kid, they live up there. It’ll be warmer than our last trip (basically, if there’s no snow it’ll automatically be warmer!) And I’m looking forward to starting the summer with a big, outdoorsy adventure. I’m also planning on wrapping the summer with a hike up Half Dome in Yosemite. But that’s for later…
I would really like to be in better shape for this next rafting trip. And the beginning of summer. I need to be able to wear a bathing suit in public and I don’t feel like I can do that yet. How sad. My goal is 25 pounds in 7 weeks, which averages out to 3.5 lbs a week. I know that is ambitious, very ambitious. But I come from a long line of overachievers, so it’s par for the course with me. And if I only lose 20 orĀ 15 lbs in these 7 weeks, well damn! I mean come on, I still lost 20 or 15 lbs. That’s awesome!! I’m the kind of person who’d rather fall just short of a high mark then aim for a low one to begin with.
I’ve spent most of the morning working on an excel spreadsheet outlining the next 7 weeks. Goals, meals, exercise - it’s pretty fancy! LOL!! It’s easier for me to stay focused if I’m borderline obsessive. And a big ol’ spreadsheet is right up my alley. Next is a graph where I can track my weightloss visually. I’m a total geek. I completely embrace this.
Today’s discovery: Subway salads. I got a turkey breast salad (no cheese, only vinegar for dressing) with tons of veggies - 110 calories or 2 WW pts!!! TWO WW POINTS!! The footlong Veggie Delight on whole wheat bread was clocking in at 10 pts and that was the lightest footlong sandwich by far.
I can’t get to the gym during the workday today. However, I am going tonite after work. It closes at 7, but I get off at 5 so there shouldn’t be a problem. I’m going for 45 minutes of cardio and my lower-body weight machines.
Tomorrow I have my MRI for my knee. Hopefully surgery will be SOON and not interfere with my weightloss program or our rafting trip this summer. Fingers crossed!!

Woman, you are amazing. Definetly a marathon mom. You are always doing something and going somewhere: Las Vegas, New York, Disney, skydiving…and that’s just the past few posts I’ve read. Way to go on your successful 5 days, and here’s to a million more. Have fun in Disney. I wanna go again someday. Just waiting for our youngest to get a few years older.
One thing I was skimming your post for was an update on your knee/knee surgery. How is that situation going? Did you already have it and recovered?
Good job joining a gym. You’re doing really great!
Thanks a bunch for linking the movie blog you have. I know you are a movie buff and I like to know what movies people like so I’ll be checking it out. I already bookmarked it.
I’m trying to lose 3.5 lbs a week 2! I’m using the basal metabolic rate formula to see how many calories my body burns with my weight/height and how much exercise I do. So to lose that much weight a week I have to eat 500 calories/day, with 30min spin bike, 300 crunches, 50 pushups, and 30 minutes of weights. How are you doing it?? How many calories a day? Just wondering to compare notes!
Extremely fine publish. I just add your blog and want to say that i have definitely loved reading through your web sites.Any way I will be subscribing ?n your rss feed and Wish you post again soon.
