Just the beginning..

Well this week was a good weigh in, down 3 lbs! Kind of sad since I was down to 228 before the weekend. I know a lot of this is water weight but it’s nice to have that initial boost. My lower back has been bothering me but I’ve been trying to push past it and keep exercising. I tried yoga for aches and pains this weekend. I don’t think it has helped me any yet.

I did my work out this morning and my time has not improved any, still took about 30 minutes to do 2 miles. I’m assuming thats because I have worked out in a few days. Will be hitting the gym again Friday morning and then it looks like I will be skiing Sunday and Monday. Which I am looking forward to!!

Sandy Sprint 5k!!

Sandy Sprint 2011 - Number 147

This year I am looking to run my first 5k. It will be the Sandy Sprint 5k for the Sandy Rollman Ovarian Cancer Foundation. A family friend of mine is battling ovarian cancer for the second time at age 24. She is a huge inspiration.

This year after gaining 30lbs back I am ready to start getting back into shape and really challenging myself to stay active and stay in shape. I have done walks in previous years but they have always been WALKS. I am ready to run, or jog atleast! So I have been back in the gym and back to eating healthier. I have a little less the 2 months to get myself ready.

I haven’t decided on a goal, other than finishing the race without fainting. That is something I will decide within the coming weeks, so I am open to suggestions.
