Break on through, break on through….

Although I am going to do “Official Weekly Weigh Ins”, I am still going to look daily just to see where I stand so to speak.  So I jumped on today and this lovely numer was staring back at me: 199.4

WOO!!  Finally broke past that 200 mark!  Although that would be a 2lb loss in a day, and that is a lot and I’m not sure if it’s true - BUT I’LL TAKE IT!!!  

Breakfast today is blueberries and oatbran.  Lunch is grabthebull’s crack salad Chicken Taco Salad (this thing is addictive - you HAVE to try it).  Dinner will be Sausage with BBQ White Beans.  It’s supposed to be a vegan dish with Tofurky Sausage, but my grocery store was out of them so I am using turkey keilbasa.  At least hubby will be happy about that.

Update  - ran 3 miles today.  it was bad… really bad.  but I guess the point was I did it.  YAY!   Calories was 1325.  Not bad.  I feel like I want to eat something, but I’m going to resist.  RESIST!!!

 

A pleasant surprise…

So today was my first day of weighing myself on my new scale!!   I did it this morning before I got dressed and it was 202.8!!   Remember the other day when I did it, the scale read 206.  Of course I was fully clothed and I really don’t think I lost 4lbs this weekend alone.   SO… I am going to change my OFFICIAL STARTING WEIGHT OF 2009 to 202.8!!  Which of course changes my goal to 182.8, but we’ll round down to an even 180 by March.  The beginning of March would be nice, but I’ll take the end as well.

Thank you Feathers, for asking about my weekend and keeping me on track.  Um, no, I really didn’t stick to plan because I didn’t get to the store until about 4:30 last night.  But since i overindulged at lunch, I stuck to a bowl of cereal for dinner.  And I didn’t snack as much yesterday.  I did exercise every day though, so that helped.

I am ready steady today!  I am eating my oatbran with blueberries for breakfast and I have grabthebull’s Chicken Taco Salad for lunch along with some clementines and yogurt.  Dinner is going to be Cheesy Lentil and Barley Casserole, and I plan on doing a 3 mile run with my friend tonight.   I’m going to bike to her house as well to get some more mileage in my 1000 miles in 2009 challenge!!

UPDATE:  my friend and I ran 3 miles!!  I have to say, it was tough!  We did intervals though - ran 8 minutes, walked 2.  We did about 4 cycles of this.  Took about 40 minutes.   I also biked to and from her house and that was 3.35 miles round trip.  WOO HOO!!  6.35 miles closer to 1000 miles!  My ticker is on my facebook page for those of you who are on facebook.   Calories for the day is 1355.  The Cheesy Barley-Lentil Casserol was REALLY good.  I’ll post the recipe sometime this week.

I bought a scale today

I had some money on a Target gift card I got for Christmas so I figured I’d get myself one.  This way I don’t have to use the doctor’s scale at the gym since I hate those and I will have a nice digital reading.  This way I can also keep track a little better.   I think that was a big part of my problem.  I didn’t have anyway to know what the flucuations were.  Now I will know…  and I do know.

I weighed myself when I got home and it was 206.  Not great, but not as bad as I thought it would be.  I thought it would be MUCH worse.  But I know where I am and where I need to go now.  Now it’s just getting on track.  I’ve gotten on the exercise track (except for today, but I’ll count it as a rest day ‘cuz it’s been a little weird) now I just need to get on the eating plan track.   MONDAY!!!!   (I still need to go to the grocery store so tomorrow is up for grabs)

My goal is to lose 20lbs by March.  Totally doable I believe.  That’s 10lbs in 2 months.   It will be close, but I feel I can do it if I STAY ON PLAN!!!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE hold me accountable girls!!!

Check out tylerdurden’s blog!  There is a forum on 3FC to run 1000 miles in 2009!   I am definitely up for the challenge.  I know I won’t make it to 1000 miles, but it’s a good motivater.

Of course, nothing will happen tonight b/c I am taking my son to see Magic v. Heat basketball.  SKY BOX TICKETS!!  Who’s jealous out there on the internet?  I haven’t been to a basketball game in YEARS (we are talking the freshman years of the Orlando Magic) and have never sat in a sky box before.  This is going to be AWESOME!!  Maybe I can count the distance from the car to the arena as mileage!!!

 UPDATE:   I ran 2 miles today!!  It was a pitifully S — L — O — W run.  We got off work early so I decided I would run before I went to the game.  I started to go to the gym and realized I didn’t have my ipod (thought it was at work).  I knew I wouldn’t make it without it on the treadmill so I decided to run the 2 mile loop in my neighborhood.  OMG, it was horrible.  BORING!!!    I walked more than I wanted too, but I did run a majority of it.  I can still log it on my Blood Sweat and Tears page and count it towards my mileage!   Oh, and guess where my ipod was.   IN MY JACKET POCKET!!  I had it the whole time.  Ugh…..  Oh well.

Changes in latitudes, changes in attitudes

It’s been said:  2009 is all about change - good and bad.  We have a new president coming into the White House, the insanely hot guitarist is leaving the band I go see all the time (bad thing, very bad thing), I’m in a new house, making less money (another very bad thing)…   and I have a new blog theme.   Not sure if I like it or not, but I figured a new theme for the year 2009.  I’m going to be making some changes around here and in myself.  I WILL DO IT THIS YEAR!!   

 I think 2008 was a learning year.  I learned a lot about my self.  I learned I COULD run.  For someone who had never run more than a block before, I worked my way up to 2.25 miles (which you would never know after my run today).  I learned that if I stayed within my certain calorie range and exercised EVERY DAY I would and could lose weight.  I lost just about 20 lbs in 2008.  It could have been a lot more if I had actually stayed on plan.  I’m not very good at that though.   I learned that about myself as well.  

So you’ll see some changes around here.  Maybe a new theme until I find one I really like.   The header in this one though makes me think of the roads I would love to run down.  I plan on making a few new pages as well to track my progress.   And I ask all of my sisterchicks to hold me accountable.  If you see I am slacking, call me out on it!!  I totally mean it.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I wanted to wish all my sisterchicks a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!  This past year has been crazy, and although none of my goals were met, I have to pat myself on the back because i did lose about 20 lbs last year.  I am so happy I found this website and have made some great cyber-friends through it, and some of them are now Facebook friends, so that’s even better!

I wish all of you(us) a safe and happy new year and that all of our goals for 2009 will be reached and even surpassed!!
