Three more people in my department were let go yesterday. That brings the total people in my department to 2. It is getting scary. I keep wondering if I’m going to show up at work one day and the doors are going to be closed. I guess it’s time to polish up the resume and get it out there. Although there aren’t any jobs to be had so if it happens, I’m SOL.

But for now, I’ll be grateful that I have a job.

Sound familiar (see yesterday’s post). Yeah, well yesterday didn’t go exactly as planned. In fact, yesterday was big horrible train derailment. BUT>>>>> I picked up the peices this morning and am starting again. That is what it’s all about, right? Picking ourselves up after a bad day and moving forward on plan instead of sitting ourselves in front of the refrigerator. Of course, I go through several days of this before I actually get it right. You know what they say though.. practice makes perfect!

I did go to the gym last night to run. I ran a mile again. It was a little easier this time, but I am running at a snail’s pace. I run the first 1/4 mile at about 5.5, then drop down to 5 for the next 1/4 mile then the last 1/2 mile was at 4.8 or something. I sure won’t break any speed records, but I’m going for distance not speed. I’ll do one more mile run this week (probably friday) and then try to boost up to 1.5 next week. We’ll see.

I’m really looking forward to tiny2b’s Chick’s Movie Night on Sunday. We are all watching Spirit of the Marathon and then chatting about it online. It’s a great idea and a great way to get us all connected more personally than just reading and commenting on blogs. I’m looking forward to watching the movie as well. The trailer gave me chills! I plan on watching it tonight while my son is at soccer practice since I downloaded it onto my ipod.

I’ve declared war!! I am ready to start buckling down again. And I have to start with my eating. I hope it’s the fact that TOM is FINALLY coming (1 week late) that has had me chowing down on EVERYTHING!! Regardless, the time to take control is now before that 3lb gain because more. I just got into my 16’s, I don’t want them to be too small again.

So I’m counting my calories again. I’ve changed my goal again (just because I had reached the end date of my last one) and my calories are the same. My new goal is to be at 175 (or -29lbs) by March 1st. That’s a long way away, so I feel this is a very obtainable goal. Usually my goals become very unrealistic (lose 30 lbs by next Friday). But it will take willpower (I lack), determination, and sweat to do it. I hope I have what it takes… ESPECIALLY though the holidays. EEK!!!

3 lb gain over the past 4 weeks. Not so bad considering. I’m not proud of it, but I’ll take it.

So I did make it to the gym today. YAY!! I jumped on the treadmill and went….. 1 MILE!! WOO! I was dying by the end, but I did it. I was only going to do a half mile, but was feeling okay so I kept going. Then I was going to stop at 3/4 mile, but a song came on my ipod that I put on strictly for the beat so I kept going. I figure if I start at a mile this week and work my way up a 1/2 mile every week, I’ll be at 2 1/2 - 3 miles by the time of the Reindeer Run (doesn’t it sound fun?!)

Of course, I didn’t help myself out by eating a small piece of pizza and some taco soup AND some ice cream cake among other things this evening. I am so stressed out with the unpacking and such. BLAGH!!!! One step at a time…..

A quick update

We are moved in. We moved this weekend and I guess I should state that all of our stuff is at the new house… it isn’t unpacked and put away though. My front room looks like the warehouse from the end of Raiders of the Lost Arc (or the beginning of the most recent Indiana Jones since it’s the same…) Anyway… but we are moved and in. When I have a moment to breathe, I’ll post pics of the house with all it’s lovely new paint and flooring.

Busy week… I was off last Friday for a field trip. Today the baby has her two year checkup (yesterday was her birthday), then I have a dr appt tomorrow and a dentist appt on Friday! BLAHHH!! I am planning on going to the gym today for the first time in 4 weeks or so. I am going to sign up for a 5k on Dec 13 so I need to start training again. I think I’m going to do my own thing. I fifgured I have about 4 weeks, I’m going to push myself to run a half mile today (more if I am feeling good) and progressivly work my way up as far as I can. We’ll see. I’ll start counting my calories again this week too.. maybe. We are still all unorganized from the move so it may be next week. But I will feel better once I get to the gym.

That’s all for now. I have a ton of stuff to do at work so I better get to it!!

Tainted Halloween

Here are some pics from my weekend. I had a great time. Some of our friends got in a bar fight but the other people got kicked out since we are regulars. There were some….. interesting costumes. I really hate Slutoween. I saw one girl that I think was a mermaid. But instead of a top, she had jewels glued on her. Yes, you read correctly… no top, just glued on jewels. Really?

Back from my trip…

That’s about all I have time to post. Busy at work since I missed Friday and I realized I’ll be out this Friday since i am going on my son’s field trip to Gatorland (love that place). I have pics and will post them when things calm down. I can only do them at work right now b/c we have no internet (or cable) at the apartment since it was switched to the house. Moving this weekend. Hopefully things (DIET/EXERCISE) will be back to normal next week once we move.

Oh, tiny2b…. 1. now I’m behind since i couldn’t watch last night’s episiode and it will be awhile before I can watch it. 2. THANKS FOR THE MIDNIGHT SUN THING…. I started reading it on my friend’s computer in NY and had to stop. It’s all I’ve thought about and now I don’t want to do any work, just read it. I’m going to save it to my desktop so I can on my breaks. I’m a lost cause.
