Tainted Halloween
General November 4th, 2008Here are some pics from my weekend. I had a great time. Some of our friends got in a bar fight but the other people got kicked out since we are regulars. There were some….. interesting costumes. I really hate Slutoween. I saw one girl that I think was a mermaid. But instead of a top, she had jewels glued on her. Yes, you read correctly… no top, just glued on jewels. Really?
Anyway, here are some pics:
First up, my kids carving a pumpkin because they are just so darn cute:

My friend, Cary, and me: she wanted me to bring my wedding dress so we could both go as dead brides, but there was no way my poofy dress was getting into my small carryon. So I went as the groom:

Johnny, the lead singer, and our friend Erica. She was a Geisha:

I wanted to get a tattoo of a chick (like our chick, not a girl) , but thought better of it ![]()

Glad you had a good trip! Loved the pics and I second that about your kids, adorable!
We took our kids to trunk or treat at our church on Wednesday and there is this one lady from our church who had rented a pirate get-up. And you know what these look like. Low cut, lots of ruffles. Tight waist. Basically, sexy. AT CHURCH?!?! She looked hot and that is great for her, however we were at a CHURCH event where families were taking their children and I just preferred not to have that in my face. Plus, her daughter looked like her costume took about 5 minutes and 5 dollars. Her mom was totally stealing what should have been the kid’s spotlight. Sick.

Wow, nice ink! I didn’t know that was on the agenda this weekend. I am thinking about a fleur d’lis on my low back (that’s right, right in the tramp stamp zone). But I haven’t found the “right one” yet.

Just catching up on the blogs and doing the “fitted into pants after a long time” dance for you because that so utterly rocks!
I love your hallowe’en pictures. We sort of have it here, but it’s all weird and wrong. It’s gone from something that we only know about from watching American TV shows to something that a few kids do, to get free lollies, to, well, at work this year we were having a dressup night and I wish I could have gone but I was bushwalking so I missed out.
But it’s weird and wrong because it’s usually 2 weeks after the start of daylight saving, so if the kids want to do the lolly thing, they have to wait until about 8 at night, otherwise it’s still too light and it’s just not scary at all.

You’re such an awesome enigma with your two lovely children & your new suburban digs, but also your bar-fighting friends & amazing tattoo!
Glad you had a good time…a time to beat the band? See, see how dorky I am when I’m trying to talk to the cool kids?
