How many calories does one burn painting a house for 12 hours?
General October 25th, 2008I hope it’s a lot because that’s what I’ve been doing all day. My legs are sore, my hands are raw, I still have paint all over me and in my hair (even though I’ve taken a shower) and I felt my abs working at a few points during the day. But you know what? It’s okay becuase we FINISHED!! That’s right, we painted the whole house today. The only thing we need to do tomorrow is trim work and second coats in 2 closets. Hubby and I have the BEST friends in the world. We had a ton of people helping us today.
I’ll take some picture tomorrow when I go back over there so you can see what we’ve done.

Okay, I think the answer to your question is “a sh*t load of calories.” At any rate, what’s important is that it’s done. We moved into this house, this house of many wallpaper patterns (including a border of whimsical outhouses in the downstairs bathroom), when I promised myself we wouldn’t move a thing in until the wallpaper was gone. Now it’ll be spring before hubby’s done with the diss & we can start ripping the stuff down.
& I feel ya with the “over it” thing. But look at it this way: the stuff you had to pack will be the easy stuff to unpack, so you probably saved yourself time in the long run. When hubby went to pack up the last of his stuff up north, he packed it into, and I kid you not, boxes that lawnmowers originally came in. Boxes big enough to fit two grown men comfortably. I can’t even think about those boxes, so they’re still unpacked & sitting in the garage.
Congrats on the house, the painting, the pants…I’ll say that one louder…THE PANTS!
Keep us posted on your progress.
