We are officially homeowners!!
General October 17th, 2008I’m still not sure how I feel about this. Hubby asked me yesterday when it was all said and done if I was happy and I told him no. I’m not yet. He looked a little dissappointed, but I told him that it just hasn’t sunk in yet. I think once we actually get into the house THAT’S when it will hit me. We still have so much work to do before we get in there. My mom and grandparents came over last night to see the house for the first time. They were excited. And we have already met one of our neighbors. They are really nice. Their daugher and granddaugher were over as well and we got to meet them too. They were all excited we were moving in. I guess the house has been vacant for awhile.
THANKFULLY…. the house came with appliances b/c my dryer broke the other day. Good timing. I guess I’ll be doing laundry in my new house before we move in!! It’s only a mile from where we live now so it’s not too far out of the way. Plus we will be over there working a lot so it’s not like I’ll have to make extra trips. The only problem is my workout clothes that get washed every day. I’m going to have to figure out what do to about them.
Food this week is a bust. We went out to eat last night to celebrate. I’ve been a ball of nerves as well. Plus they are laying off more people today or Monday. I made sure I wasn’t one of them before I left for closing yesterday. But that means more work is coming our way. Ugh.

I think it is natural to have uncertain feelings over something so huge. I am always trying to figure out why vacations just aren’t like they used to be. Then I remember…it is because I am the adult now and I have to do all the work and I have to know all of the costs and all that. Not like when I got to just pack a suitcase and hop in mom and dad’s car!
The sweet potato and kale and beans were all just separate. I usually make two sides for dinner, but when beans is one of them there has to be a third so that hubby can opt out of the beans.

Me again. Re: True Blood. I know someone who named their kid Suki. No lie. Suki. How crazy is that? I especially like the way Bill says it. If you haven’t noticed that, you will now. Favorite character so far is the growling bartender. He is so going to end up being a werewolf, betcha. If you’re a texter, you should get on Twitter. Too much fun.
My brother watches TB but my SIL does not, but my bro is text-challenged, so I text my SIL with stuff like “Can you believe Tara and the B.T. did it?” and she is all, like, I DO NOT WATCH THIS STUPID SHOW. And I am like, I KNOW, BUT I DON’T HAVE ANYONE ELSE TO TEXT IT TO. She summed me up in one line… she said, “You don’t even care who is listening as long as you get your words out.” Haha, so true. Twitter is good for that too.

Congratulations! You’ve been working toward this goal for a long time. Just like anything worthwhile, it’s a little scary and a lot of work. I’m delighted that it turned out so great!
