It all makes PERFECT sense!!!
General August 26th, 2008Anyone see this article on MSN (maybe I’m the only one in front of a computer all day). Anyway, this study links early ear infection to obesity in adults. Something about the nerve damage or something. It all makes sense now!! I had a ton of ear infections when I was little. I can still remember the taste of the pencillian to this day. NO WONDER I’M OVERWEIGHT!!! A breakthrough — a defining moment…. there is obviously nothing I can do about it so I’m just going to go eat a whole pizza by myself!!
Just Kidding… I won’t go do that. But it is an interesting article. Sort of scary too. My son had an ear infection every month from about 15 months to the time he turned 2 and we finally put tubes in his ears. He is the skinniest little bean pole though now at 6. No sign of obesity yet. Hmmmmmm….

Very interesting. Now if we can only figure out why kids have had so many more ear infections in the last two generations… So good you were kidding about the pizza! Whew! You gave me a great insight which I am going to go blog about. Thanks! Also, I’m putting you in my blog roll. =)

Now that is an interesting finding. I don’t remember being particularly prone to ear infections as a kid, but I did have a really, really bad bout of tonsillitis when I was only a few months old. I have NEVER been able to understand the concept of “too rich” as in food (or money, for that matter…) and I used to fantasise about drinking cream. My son had lots of ear infections and eventually had to have tubes put in. He was quite little when he was a kid, but now, as 21, well, his weight does worry me. Could it be all in the ears???
