Gymmin’ it up….
General August 23rd, 2008Is that even a word? I’m sure you guys know what I mean though. Anyway, I went to the gym last night for my training session. I did a 5k on the treadmill beforehand. I joined getupnow’s inner 5 year old while I was there. I scoped out the treadmills and found the “largest” women on the treadmill and parked myself next to them. Just so I could feel good about myself when I ran my piddly minutes. Stupid, I know. Did I feel better about myself though — yeah.
I didn’t run as much as I wanted too, but I finished the 5k in about 43 minutes. That’s pretty much my standard time (except for the one I did on 4th of July). Then I did my training session with the trainer. We did arms… she about killed me. I was kind of upset because my trainer is no longer going to be working in the evenings. But she was able to open up some sessions at 5:30am for me. Did you read that right? 5:30AM!! But I’ve been getting to the gym every day this past week at 5 am, so that should be okay.
We went to the gym today as well. Then we went and looked at the house that we’ve put an offer on last weekend. This is a short sale which is SUCH a pain in the butt. The seller has signed off on our offer, but our realtor doesn’t think the bank will. We really lowballed because it needs appliances (none in the house) and some finish work. We’ll see. Keep your fingers crossed for us, please. If you’d like to see an aerial vew of the house and can see the HUGE backyard, click here. It’s the house with the trapezoidal back yard right in the center.
Hubby and I have a wedding to go to tonight. I normally hate weddings - i hate getting dressed up - but it’s my best friend growing up’s wedding (the one I went on the rafting trip with). It should be fun.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

Best of luck! The yard is amazing. Have my fingers crossed for ya!
Oh. Just wait ’till bigprof, periwinkle and tiny2b see you calling your runs “piddley” when you still finished 5k in 43 minutes! To quote Tootie from facts of life, there’s gonna be trouble!!
Oh yeah. I was MUCH happier when the one lady was on the track the other day. Had I been out there trying to run with Ludmilla Drago bolting past me…wouldn’t have finished my 3.1 miles. No way. I hate that I am this way, but I just feel so hopeless and defeated when stuff looks so easy for other people and I am barely hanging on. Ugh.

I went down to street view & checked out all the houses…couldn’t figure out which one was the one you made the offer on, though. But it’s a gorgeous neighborhood! Fingers & toes are crossed here.
Okay, I didn’t write this on my blog (only at my C25K yahoo group), but I picked two slow-moving, less in shape women to run between today…& it felt AWESOME to run between them when, for example, the woman to my right was walking at 2.8 the whole time. I mean, if we’d been outside, I would’ve lapped her in a heartbeat: me gazelle-like and athletic; her slow-moving & sloth-like.
Of course, if we’d been outside, I might have noticed her cane, which I didn’t notice until she got off her treadmill, picked it up off the floor, and walked (with cane) off to do weights. Yeah, my inner 5-year-old was feeling pretty ashamed of herself after that :)!
Have fun at the wedding!
